The North Sea Atlantic is amulti-purpose construction vesseldesigned to deliver pipelay, subseaconstruction and survey projects.

The North Sea Atlantic provides astable working platform for the mostdemanding offshore projects: herunrivalled lifting capacity and largedeck space combined with state-of-the-art navigation equipmentprovides the versatility required inthe modern subsea market. Thismulti-purpose construction vesselprovides a cost efficient solution tocarry out a range of offshore activi-ties including pipe laying, subseaconstruction and survey.

Seakeeping characteristicsThe North Sea Atlantic is a largevessel equipped with innovative rollreduction tanks to allow increasedoperability even in the harshestweather conditions. The vessel takesadvantage of the latest technolo-gies to provide efficient stationkeeping characteristics and en -hanced reliability.

Working deckThe main deck is flush and providesan excellent working platform withits high tensile steel constructionand large uniform loading capacityof 15 Te/m2. The 1,900 m2 deck areamay be used for project equipment, with the ability to weld over the

entire deck area; removable bulwarksin overboarding areas facilitate craneoperations. The moonpool areais reinforced to accommodateTechnip’s Vertical Lay Systems andOpenable VLS. The aft deck area isalso reinforced locally to allow theinstallation of a 2,000 Te, 20 m deckcarousel.

CranageFitted with a 550 Te active heavecompensated box boom crane, theNorth Sea Atlantic offers unrivalledlifting capacity with the ability towork to water depths up to3,000 m. The crane is equipped withall modes and functions that can beexpected from the latest generationof subsea cranes. A whipline capa-city of 40 Te at all radii combinedwith long reach allows the crane toperform the most critical pipelayrelated tasks. The main crane issupple mented by an active heavecompensated 50 Te knuckle boomcrane and 2 stores cranes with liftingcapacity of 5 Te and 2 Te.

ROVThe two work class ROVs are thelatest LARS Triton XLX vehicles with150 hp and rated to 3,000 m water

depth. The ROVs are launched usingthe latest rail launch and recoverysystems that provide increasedoperability by taking the vehicle andTether Management System as -sembly through the splash zone. TheLARS system is also equipped withelectrically driven active heavecompensated umbilical winches tosupport year round operations inthe harshest environments.

Station keepingThe North Sea Atlantic is equippedwith a fully redundant KongsbergIMO equipment class 3 stationkeeping system. This allows thevessel to fulfil the highest stationkeeping requirements even in caseof worst single failure or loss of asingle compartment.

Machinery/propulsionThe vessel is powered by a diesel-electric power plant consisting offour Wartsila generator sets of4.22 MW each. This system providesample power and versatility requiredfor DP operations and use of heavyequipment such as VLS towers andthe 550 Te heavy lift crane.
