North Sacramento Cops Log – May 2010

Date Incident May 1, 2010 6:01 pm, Dixieanne/Evergreen (Winners Cr. Park), Possible Shooting, N. Sac

Officers responded to a call from the possible victim's mother. She stated her son was at the skate park and was shot in the arm. When her son found out she called police, he left on a green/yellow bicycle. Officers contacted people near the park but no one heard or saw anyone shooting a gun. Officers never located the possible victim as he fled anytime the mother called police. 4:35 am, 739 Dixieanne, Stabbing/robbery, N. Sac The victim (lives in the South Area) was walking on Dixieanne. A white/silver car pulled up and let the suspect out of the car. The suspect came up to the victim and they started fighting. The suspect then stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife. The suspect also took money from the victim's pocket. The victim ran to the apartments on Darina to get help from his friend. The "friend" told officers that he didn't know the victim and had never seen him before. The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. Suspect: male black adult, 22‐23 yrs., 5'5", 180 lbs., short afro, dark clothing. 2:38 am, Rio Linda/Arcade, Shooting, Hagginwood The victims were driving on Arcade in a Silver Lexus when another car started tailgating them. The car pulled alongside the victims and fired a gun at them multiple times. The driver was struck with gunfire and the suspects drove off. The victim is expected to survive his injuries. 1:31 am, Rio Linda/Union St. Shooting, Hagginwood The victim was sitting inside his car when a silver car (possibly a Lexus) pulled up and shot at the car numerous times. The victim was hit multiple times but is expected to live. The description of the shooter is a Male Black adult.

May 2, 2010 6:12 pm, 3602 Rio Linda #2, Parolee Arrest, Del Paso Heights Officer Yonemura went to the above location to find a Parolee at Large. He observed the parolee in the alley. When the suspect saw the officer, he fled through the yard. The K‐9 eventually located the suspect inside the house. Robert Bowlin 11/2/66 was arrested for his parole warrant.

May 3, 2010 11:50 pm, Elm/Grand Ave, Drug/Parolee Arrest, Del Paso Heights Officers Harshbarger and Shippen stopped a subject that was driving a white Dodge Magnum. He gave officers a different name. The name he gave had a suspended drivers license. Officers also located an ecstasy pill inside the car.

Officers arrested the subject and took him to jail. At the jail, they determined his real name. He turned out to be a Parolee At Large. Tyriece Washington 9/16/81 (lives on Haywood) was arrested for drugs, giving a false name and his parolee warrant. 10:36 pm, 1100 block of South Ave, Shooting, Del Paso Heights The victim stated he heard someone at his door. He opened the door and observed suspect #1 outside. The suspect tried to open the screen door and then pulled a gun from his waistband. The victim slammed the door and ran back inside the apartment. Two suspects then entered the apartment and shot at the victim. The victim was hit in the arm with a bullet and then jumped out the back window of the residence. The suspects fled back out the front door and got into a car with a loud exhaust. Suspect#1. male black, dark complexion, 20‐25 yrs., 6'0", shoulder length dread locks. #2. male black adult, 20‐25 yrs., light complexion, 5'8" to 6'0", with short hair. 9:00 pm, Garden Hwy/Northgate & Eleanor/Altos (Bike Trail), Robbery. A victim was riding his bicycle on the bike trail at Garden Highway/Northgate. The suspect hit him in his face with an unknown object and knocked him to the ground. The suspect and 4‐5 other subjects stood over him and demanded money. The victim didn't have any money so they took his bike and rode north on the bike trail. A little later, another victim was on the bike trail at Eleanor/Altos and was surrounded by suspects of a similar description. They demanded the victim's MP3 and threw the victim on the ground and started beating him. They took his MP3 and fled north on the bike trail. The helicopter and patrol officers located two groups of subjects on the bike trail north of Eleanor. One was riding the original victim's bicycle. 4 subjects were identified as being responsible for one or both of the robberies ‐ the MP3 player wasn't located. Arturo Morales 4/30/89 was arrested for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation. Wayne Cissney 4/26/91 (lives on Belden) was arrested for robbery and conspiracy. Paul Cook 6/26/89 (lives on Carmelita) was arrested for robbery and conspiracy. And a 15 yr. old was also arrested for robbery and conspiracy. 5:51 pm, 1689 Arden (Arden Fair Mall), Stolen Car/Parolee Arrest Security at Arden Fair Mall located a stolen car driving through their parking lot and call police. They followed the car via their camera system to the Burger King. Officers located the car still in the drive thru of the Burger King. They got others out of the way and approached the car. The driver fled from the car and was eventually caught at the AM/PM across the street. The 15 yr. old female passenger in the car didn't run and was in possession of the victim's debit card. The driver was a parolee. James Nelson 7/13/89 was arrested for the stolen car, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and parole violation. The passenger was arrested for possession of stolen property.


Anti Burglary/Robbery Team Update (This team consists of a sergeant, 2 POP Officers and 4 Patrol Officers. Their mission is to significantly reduce burglaries and robberies in the Natomas and North Sac neighborhoods) 1:18 pm, South/Dayton ‐ Officers stopped a subject riding a bicycle in this area. He had numerous illegal prescription pills on him. Paul Stinson 12/21/63 was arrested on drug charges. 3:30 pm, Rosin/Northgate (Northgate/Gardenland) ‐ Officers stopped a car the suspects were riding in. Both subjects initially lied to officers about their names but eventually told the truth. Sir Alfred Jackson 6/2/89 was arrested for his $250,000 stalking warrant and his no bail theft warrant. Bryant Matthews 2/26/88 was arrested for his felony drug warrant. 10:26 am, 1000 block of Grand Ave, Drug Arrest ‐ Officers went to this location looking for a subject with a felony warrant. She wasn't home but her brother was home. He was on probation and turned out to have 2 no bail warrants. They also located rock cocaine and marijuana. The 16 yr. old was arrested on drug charges and his warrants.

May 4, 2010 8:13 pm, 480 Redwood (Gibson Oaks Apts), Parolee arrest, N. Sac POP Officers went to this location and arrested the suspect for his warrant. Eddie Harmon 12/4/72 was arrested for his no bail narcotic warrant and parole violation. 5:43 pm, Oakmont/Dixieanne, Drug Arrest, N. Sac Officers contacted a subject on Oakmont. they took him to his home (2738 Oakmont) and conducted a search. They located cocaine in his room. Kyle Gamoke 7/23/87 was arrested on drug charges. 11:29 am, 49 Kit Ct, Arrests, E. Del Paso Heights The Burglary/Robbery team went to this address to serve an arrest warrant on Eva Ray. They knocked on the door and there was no answer. They could see a male subject (Foster) running to the back of the residence. A female subject (Ray) eventually answered the door and was arrested. Officers located the male subject that ran inside the home. They also located another male subject and female subject lying on a bed inside the home. The male subject was an ex‐parolee and the female subject had 2 no bail warrants and was on probation. They located a loaded handgun, methamphetamine, several scales, numerous small baggies, a large amount of money, rifle rounds and a narcotic pipe. Melvin Mack 9/27/81 (lives in N. Highlands) was arrested for felon in possession of


a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and narcotic charges. Eva Ray 8/9/69 was arrested for felon in possession of ammunition, narcotic paraphernalia and her warrant. 3:32 am, 2300 block of North Ave, Shooting, E. Del Paso Heights The victim heard someone in front of her house near their cars. She went outside with her son and notice a clothes hanger in the car door. 2 suspects then ran away from the back area of the car. They got into a car parked down the street and drove by the house. The car made a U‐turn and drove back past the house. This time someone in the car fired several rounds from a gun at the house. No one was injured and multiple rounds hit the house. Suspect vehicle: silver 2‐door (possibly a newer Nissan). Suspect: male Hispanic or light complected male black, 6'0", dark clothing. POP Officers rode bicycles on the Del Paso Blvd and wrote several citations (one for marijuana) and contacted several people. Traffic Enforcement * 5/4/10 ‐ The traffic team worked the area of Del Paso/Marysville Blvd. They wrote 42 citations, gave 4 warnings and towed 8 cars.

May 6, 2010 9:06 pm, Drug Arrest, Western/Fairbanks, Strawberry Manor POP Officers Goggin and Oliver contacted a subject at the above location. He was on parole and in possession of rock cocaine. They also searched his house on Lampasas. Greg Daniels 1/26/83 was arrested for drugs and parole violation. 4:42 pm, Norwood/Grace, Pursuit/Arrest, Robla Officer Kinstler observed a car run the red light at Norwood/Bell. He attempted to catch up the car, but the car fled from the officer. The car drove north on Norwood, East on Grace, North on Seawind and crashed into a fence and a parked car at Taylor/Main. The suspect told officers he was testing his new cold air intake and then got scared and fled from police. Carewin Czekaj 5/23/84 was arrested for the pursuit. 11:29 am, 717 Lampasas, Armed Robbery, Noralto The victim went to this location to purchase a car he saw on Craig's List. The suspect's pulled in behind the victim's car and blocked him in. The four suspects then approached his car and pulled a gun. They hit the victim with the gun twice


until the victim gave the suspect's the money. One suspect fled on foot with the gun through 760 Lampasas and the other 3 suspect fled in the gold car they came in. Officers later found the car being driven by the owner, but the owner wasn't identified as one of the suspects. The car was impounded and officers continue to investigate this robbery. Suspect#1. male black 25‐28 yrs., beanie and black hoodie. 4:18 am, 4280 Pinell St, Theft Arrest, E. Del Paso Heights Officers responded on a call of two subjects cutting through a fence and stealing property from a warehouse. Officers arrived and located one suspect. Officer Gullion struggled with the suspect as Officer Hanks jumped the Barb wire fence to help (injured his hand in the process). They took this suspect into custody but the 2nd suspect got away. Stephon Makarov 8/14/85 (lives downtown) was arrested for grand theft and he also had a warrant for burglary. 12:33 am, Arcade/Diggs Park Dr, Stolen Car, Hagginwood Officer Kinstler located a stolen car driving in the above area. The car was stolen from 26th Ave in the south area on 5/2/10 after the victim left the keys in the car. Babino Estrada 5/4/83 was arrested for the stolen car.

May 7, 2010 10:49 pm, 2400 Del Paso (Shell Station), Pursuit/Arrest, N. Sac Officers Bevins and Macaulay contacted a subject that was loitering in the parking lot. He then ran from officers but was caught at 2517 Del Paso. Turned out he had a warrant for his arrest out of Texarkana Arkansas. William Graham 8/26/88 was arrested for resisting officers and his warrant. 4/30/10 @ 6:07 pm, Del Paso/Arden (near Lt. Rail), gun incident **UPDATE** On 4/30/10 officers responded to the light rail station (noted on previous email update) regarding a subject with a gun. Officers attempted to contact a group of subjects walking away from he station. These subjects fled from officers. Some of them were caught, but some got away. One of the subjects that got away, threw a gun into the bushes. the gun was located but the suspect got away. POP Officers Fong and Canepa conducted follow up on this case and located the possible suspect at his home in Rancho Cordova. He was on probation. Officers arrested the 17 yr. old on gun charges.

May 8, 2010 7:48 pm, Dixieanne/Oakmont, Homicide, N. Sac The suspects and victims got into a verbal altercation on the Boulevard. The suspect side was on the Boulevard for a Quincinera. The two groups began to physically fight and the fight continued down Del Paso Boulevard to Dixieanne. One subject was hit with a pole and then the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several rounds. One suspect was dead at the scene and another subject was shot


in the shoulder area. Homicide detectives are continuing their attempt at identifying the suspect. 11:14 am, 732 Calvados, Parolee Arrest, N. Sac Officer Jarvis contacted two subjects in the doorway of the garage at the above location. He recognized one of the subjects as a parolee he had dealt with previously. The parolee attempted to retreat back into the garage but the officer grabbed him. The subject had a large bicycle chain with lock hanging around his neck. He also had a large knife between the couch cushions in his living area (garage). He also had a cigarette lighter that officer initially thought was a real gun (looked just like a gun). A warrant check revealed the subject was actually a parolee at large. Roger Medford 6/29/79 was arrested for being a P.A.L. and a 2nd subject was cited for having a narcotic pipe and marijuana. 9:30 am, 3116 El Rey Wy, Drug/Warrant/Arrest, Hagginwood Officers Davis, Sabra, Edmonson, and Cuevas went to this location to try to find a subject with a warrant. they contacted another subject in the front yard when they arrived that was on probation. They eventually located the wanted suspect hiding behind a trailer in the front yard. They located methamphetamine next to the suspect and a narcotic pipe inside the residence (the suspect lives in the garage). They also located a scale in the garage. Patrick Clifton 12/16/73 was arrested on drug charges and possession of narcotic paraphernalia and his warrant (warrant was for drug charges). (5/8/10) swing shift, Del Paso Boulevard POP Officers Canepa and Fong worked Del Paso Boulevard on bicycles. They arrested one subject for warrants and cited two other subjects in the area (prior to the homicide).

May 9, 2010 11:14pm, 900 block of Roanoke, Found gun, Del Paso Heights A person was doing lawn work when they found a loaded handgun in the grass. Officers responded and retrieved the gun. 10:45 pm, 1200 Dixieanne (Swantson Light Rail station), Pursuit, N. Sac Officer Galliano attempted to contact a male subject and female subject at the above location. The male subject ran from the officer as he was putting his hands in his pockets. The suspect jumped a fence, ran across the tracks and eventually dropped to the ground in a grassy area. Officers arrested him and located marijuana in his pocket. He was also on probation and had a misdemeanor warrant. Justin Oliphant 11/13/87 was arrested for resisting officers, probation violation, and his warrant. He told officers he didn't think it was illegal to run from the police.


8:23 pm, Marysville/Grand, Shooting, Del Paso Heights The victims stated they were driving at the above location when they heard gunshots. The driver was hit in the arm. The victims drove back to another location and called the police. The victim's car had multiple gun shot holes and the victim is expected to survive his injuries. There were no witnesses or suspect descriptions. 1:48 am, 2800 block of Belden, shooting, Hagginwood Officers responded to this location regarding several gunshot heard in the area. A home on the street had been shot and bullet holes were located in the house. Nothing was seen, only gun shots heard so no suspect descriptions. 12:56 am, Rio Linda/Granger, Hit and Run, Robla The victim was walking down Rio Linda when she was hit by a car going North on Rio Linda. She landed about 40' from where she was hit and the car fled the area. The car was described as a smaller boxy type car. The victim is expected to survive and suffered and injured ankle and scrapes and bruises. 12:34 am, 2600 block of Albatross, shooting, Swanston Estates Officers responded on a subject brandishing a gun and firing a gun in the area. There was a fight at this location between several subjects that knew each other. At one point one of the suspects supposedly fired a gun in the air several times. The suspect with the gun was last seen leaving the area in a Dark blue Ford Expedition. He was identified but not located. No one was hit with the gunfire but one person had appeared to have been punched but wouldn't tell officers what happened.

May 10, 2010 4:07 pm, 1615 Bell Ave, Warrant Arrest, Robla Officers stopped a car at the above location. Inside the car was a subject with a no bail warrant for threatening someone with a weapon. Katherine McDaniel 11/23/69 was arrested for her warrant. 10:16 am, 351 Las Palmas, Arrest, Wills Acres Officers responded to a call of someone stealing power from this location. There was jumper cables hooked up to where the meter was supposed to be. The house looked vacant but then the suspect walked up. He stated he lived at this location but was being evicted. He allowed officers and the building inspector inside the house. They located a rifle in the front room. They also located a stolen Chevy Tahoe dismantled in the garage. The suspect also admitted to stealing the power so he could turn on his lights. Officers arrested Michael Esteves 10/21/66 for power theft, possession of stolen property and ex‐felon in possession of a gun.


May 11, 2010 10:56 pm, Grand/Ivy, Drug/parolee/Arrest, Del Paso Heights Offices Harshbarger and Shippen stopped a Maroon Saturn at the above location. The driver was on parole and there was a 14 yr. old passenger. Officers located a sandwich baggie of rock cocaine in the car. Tony Armstrong 6/12/86 (lives on Scarlet Ash in N. Natomas) was arrested for parole violation. The 14 yr. old was arrested on drug charges. 7:50 pm, Macy's (Arden Fair), Theft/Arrest The suspect entered the store with 2 empty bags. She put almost $1,000 worth of merchandise in the bags. Security arrested the suspect for the theft. Valerie Gabriel 2/9/86 (lives in Rancho Cordova) was arrested for burglary. 5:06 pm, Arden/Cambridge, Warrant Arrest, N. Sac Officer Goodpaster contacted 4 subjects at the above location. One had a felony warrant for theft charges. Derick Freeman 5/29/63 was arrested for his warrant. 12:20 pm, 3565 Auburn Blvd (Del Paso Park), Lewd Acts, Several people have complained about lewd acts being committed in the park. Officers went to the park and observed two men engaged in lewd acts in the park in view of the street. Both subjects were cited for lewd acts in public. 2:20 am, Silica/Knoll, Robbery/Shooting, N. Sac Officers responded to Kaiser North regarding a subject that had a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim stated he had posted "for sale" flyers around his apartment complex in the County to sell his PS3 game. He stated the suspects called him and had him meet them at Silica/Knoll around midnight. 3 male black adults pulled up in a Brown Honda Civic and pulled a gun on the victim. The victim stated he hit the suspect with the PS3 and knocked the gun out of his hand. The victim then stated he ran away. He stated he was shot in the leg as he ran to his car. He got into his car and drove off. Officers could not locate the scene, nor any witnesses to the crime or gunshots. The suspects were described as: #1. male black adult, 18‐20 yrs., 5'8", light complexion. #2. male black adult, 18‐20 yrs., 6'0", dark complexion, dread locks. #3. male black adult, 18‐20 yrs., 6'0", 220 lbs., fade haircut. Traffic Enforcement * 5/11/10 ‐ The traffic team worked the area of Del Paso Blvd and Marysville Blvd. They wrote 61 citations and towed 7 cars.

May 12, 2010 12:30 pm, 1400 block of North Ave., Burglary/Arrest, Del Paso Heights


The victim's house was broken into while she was away by two subjects. The burglary/robbery team conducted follow up and determined one of the suspects was the victim's estranged husband. They located him today on 5/13/10 at 2440 Connie drive. When they arrested him, he was in possession of methamphetamine. Brian Willis 2/24/86 was arrested for the burglary and drug charges. 3:29 pm, 743 Plaza, Drug/Parolee Arrest, N. Sac The Burglary/Robbery team contacted several subjects at this location. Most of them were on parole or probation. They located stolen paperwork (stolen in a burglary) in the pocket of one subject. They also arrested two other subjects for parole violation. At the jail, they located methamphetamine in the shoe of one of the suspects. Timothy Ferguson 10/20/90 (transient) was arrested on drug charges, possession of stolen property. Steven Fricker 1/26/71 (lives at the Plaza address) was arrested for parole violation. Richard Smoot 8/2/76 (lives on Elkhorn) was arrested for parole violation. 12:41 am, Plaza/Del Paso Blvd, Stolen Car/Arrest, N. Sac Officer Hanks located a stolen white BMW in the above area as it pulled into 2400 Del paso (Shell). Officers arrested Cornell Childs 5/29/67 (lives in Rancho Cordova) for the stolen car. 5/12/10, Del Paso Park, N. Sac The North POP team worked the park due to recent complaints about lewd conduct in the park. They arrested 3 subjects for lewd conduct in the park.

May 13, 2010 6:15 pm, 1000 block of Dixieanne, Assault, N. Sac The victim was grabbed by 3 suspects. They drug him a short distance and then kicked and hit the victim. Officers had responded to this same area a couple of hours earlier regarding a large fight in the area...but no one was around when they arrived. This is possibly gang related. Suspect #1. male hispanic adult, 20's, 5'9", 180 lbs., curly hair. #2. male hispanic adult, black jacket with white stripes. #3. Male white adult, 17 yrs., 5'7", 150 lbs., spikey hair. Del Paso Blvd/Southgate, Arrests, Woodlake The Burglary/Robbery team stopped a car at the above location. Inside the car one subject had a burglary warrant and another subject had a no bail misdemeanor warrant. Vernon Jullan 9/2/76 was arrested for his burglary warrant. Raven Lewis 5/20/80 was arrested on the misdemeanor warrant. Traffic Enforcement 5/13/10 ‐ The traffic team worked the areas of Del Paso Blvd and Marysville Blvd. They wrote 17 traffic citations and towed 1 car.


Point West Rotary Officer of the Year Point West Rotary honored one of our very own this morning as the Officer of the Year. The breakfast honoring our Officer was held at the Double Tree Hotel this morning. Sgt. Lisa Hinz was honored for her devotion to the youth in our community. She spends countless hours coordinating and running the Kops N Kids Camp as the President of the Board. The camp is held every summer at Rosemont H.S. and only costs $30 per kid ‐ includes transportation, food, t‐shirt, and most of all ‐ A great time!! You can register your kid now for this week long summer camp (June 21‐25th) at www.kopsnkids.com. In addition to her tremendous volunteer efforts, Sgt. Hinz does a tremendous job at work ‐ last year she was the Natomas Swing shift sergeant. This year she was assigned to the North Sac Swing shift. She then implemented the very successful Burglary/Robbery team and is now assigned to running this special team of officers. Congratulations Sgt. Hinz on a job well done and for caring for our Youth!! And thank you Point West for recognizing her efforts.

May 14, 2010 10:39 pm, Arden/Harvard, Assist to CHP, N. Sac Officers Stone and McClusky were in the above area when the CHP was chasing two motorcycles that were headed right at our officers. The two motorcycles collided with each other and officers caught both drivers. They were turned over to the CHP. 9:00 pm, Rio Linda/Grand (bike trail), Armed Robbery, Del Paso Heights The victim met one of the suspects on My Space. He was going over to the suspects house on this night to meet up with the suspect. When he got to the above location, he was approached by the suspect and two other subjects. Two of them had guns and one had a knife. They took the victim's backpack, wallet, cell phone and t‐shirt. Officers located the suspects house (Altos) and contacted the main suspect. They located the victim's property inside the house, but were not able to locate the other 2 suspects. They also located ammunition inside the suspects room. The 15 yr. old suspect was arrested for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of stolen property. Suspect #2. male black adult, 5'10", 250 lbs., bald, 20's. #3. male black adult, skinny. 2:13 am, Arcade/Branch, Stolen Car/Arrest, Hagginwood Officer Hanks observed a stolen white Honda Civic driving at Arcade/Branch. He stopped the car as it pulled into the Quick stop at Marysville/Los Robles. The passenger refused to talk to officers or give officers his name. Turned out he was a parolee at large. Crystal Russell 2/20/81 (transient) was arrested for the stolen car. Mario Rose 4/2/87 was arrested for the stolen car and the parole warrant. 1:10 am, Arcade Blvd, Domestic Violence Arrest, Richardson Village Officers responded to a call of a father and son fighting and the son had a knife.

When officers arrived, there were several subjects yelling in the front yard. They pointed to the suspect that was standing in the group. As officers approached, the suspect yelled at officers, "I'm going to stab you". He then ran into the house as officers withdrew their tasers. A family member got between the suspect and the officers and the suspect pulled the family member to the ground on top of him. Officers, after a short struggle, were able to get the suspect in handcuffs. The suspect had been in an argument with his father and pulled out a kitchen knife. He told family members he was going to rush the officers when they arrived so they would shoot him. He also told officers his plan was to get them to shoot him. Joseph Stanley 10/25/78 was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, threats, brandishing and possession of marijuana (He had a baggie of marijuana on him). 12:53 am, 2727 Del Paso Blvd (Calvary Elementary School), burglary, N. Sac Officers responded to an alarm call at the school. They located an open window when they arrived. Officer Beachdorf soon observed a male white subject with a shaved head walking away from the school with a backpack. He told the subject to stop and the subject took off running south on Del Paso Blvd. Officer Beachdorf chased after the suspect at the same time he observed a 2nd male white adult with a shaved head who ran west bound. Officers Dodds and King caught the suspect in the alley after he jumped a fence near Taft & Glenrose. He was no longer wearing his shirt (later located hanging on a fence) and no longer had his backpack. Officers never located the backpack, but they did located envelopes from the church inside his pockets. The 2nd suspect was never located. Benjamin Gallardo 3/11/82 (transient) was arrested for the burglary. **Homicide Update**, Dixieanne/Oakmont On 5/8/10 @ 7:48 pm, the victim was shot at the above location. This came after the victim was involved in a large altercation with another group of subjects at this location. Homicide Detectives located and arrested the suspect this morning at the 3300 block of Horseshoe Dr (Fulton/Business 80 area). Douglas Rivas 8/4/89 was arrested for the homicide.

May 15, 2010 10:38 pm, 3900 block of Haywood St., Shooting, Del Paso Heights Officers responded to calls of gunshots in the above area. Two subjects were involved in a domestic violence situation when a relative of the female subject intervened. He fought the male subject until the male subject left. A short time later, the male subject returned with several car loads of people. One subject had a gun and a fight soon ensued over the gun. In the end, 4 people were shot ‐ 3 non‐life threatening and 1 life threatening. All subjects were taken to the hospital and a gun was located in the area. Officers continue to follow up on this to identify the people who did the shooting. 10:02 pm, "Bait" equipment arrest, Point West Area,


"Bait" equipment was placed in the above area in order to combat property crime in the area. The suspect took the property. Officers observed a VW van leaving the area of the Elephant Bar with the property inside. Officers followed the suspect to his residence at 1223 Wayland Dr (Howe/Hurley area) where they stopped the suspect. They found the property in the back of the van and Thomas Johnson 8/8/65 was arrested for grand theft and possession of stolen property. 2:16 am, Acacia/Altos, Drug Arrest, Hagginwood Officers King and Henderson stopped a subject on a bicycle in the above area. He had a warrant for his arrest and a baggie of methamphetamine in his pocket. Romeo Bautista 12/16/66 (lives on Taylor) was arrested for his warrant and drug charges.

May 16, 2010 9:17 pm, 2200 block of Grand Ave, Shooting, E. Del Paso Heights Officers responded to several calls regarding gunshots heard in the area. A dark color car (possibly a Honda) was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. No one was injured and no suspects were located. 2:01 pm, 2700 block of Oakmont St., Child Sex Issues, N. Sac The suspect approached 3 small children as they were playing. He told the kids a relative was intoxicated and the kids should go with him to help the relative. The kids didn't go with the suspect and he then put his hands in his pants and started playing with himself. He then took the same hand and rubbed it on one of the child's face. He continually tried to get them to go with him and grabbed on of their hands at one point. The children ran and called for their mom. The mom came out and yelled at the suspect‐ he then fled away from the area. He possiblyfrequents this area. If anyone has information about this suspect please call police immediately so we can locate him. Suspect: male black adult, dark complexion, 50‐60 yrs., 5'11", 215 lbs., goatee, black baseball cap, black jeans, blue t‐shirt and corn rows in his hair. 9:59 am, Rene Ave, Assault/Arrest, Del Paso Heights The victim and suspect got into an argument that turned physical. Inside the home where the argument was taking place, there was a 7 yr. old present. The suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the female victim. He then fired the gun past the victim's head and the bullet struck the wall ‐ somewhat near the child. The victim fled the home and called the police. Officers arrived and located the suspect walking with the 7 yr. old on North Ave. As soon as the suspect saw the officers, he turned around and went behind a mini van that was parked on the street. Officers stopped him and located a bag under the van. They located a loaded gun inside the bag. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and gun charges.



2:22 am, Sand Cove Park (2005 Garden Hwy), Stolen Car Officers Stone and McClusky were checking on complaints at Sand Cove Park. The complaints involve subjects in the park late at night. They located one person and sent them on their way. They also located a stripped out gold '94 Honda Accord (missing wheels, radio etc). This car was stolen that same night from the Radisson Hotel. The car was recovered but the suspects were not located. 12:35 am, 2100 Grand Ave, Shooting, E. Del Paso Heights Officers responded on several calls of gunshots heard in the area. Apparently there was a party near this location and two un‐invited groups showed up. When they weren't allowed inside, they shot guns off in the air. No suspects were located and no one was injured. Daytime, 1100 block of Jean, Burglary, Del Paso Heights The victims home was burglarized a couple of days ago by the suspects breaking a side window. On the above date, the home was broken into again through the same broken window. The victim had some information regarding the suspect. Officers Bevins and Armstrong followed up on this information and went to 1051 North Ave to locate the suspect. They didn't locate the suspect, but they did locate a large amount of the victim's stolen property in the back yard. The suspect has been identified and the burglary/robbery team is currently searching for him.
