The North Little Rock School District is undergoing some big changes: new construction and remodeling of schools at several locations. The North Little Rock’s School District’s Capital Improvement Plan will provide facilities of modern design with the latest technology and a well trained staff to better prepare our students for careers in the 21st century. While the new facilities are designed to utilize the new educational technologies, the facilities are also designed to keep our students and staff safe and secure with state of the art safety and security measures.

NAVIGATING THE NORTH LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT SAFELY

While some schools are still undergoing construction, it is crucial to the North Little Rock School District that we implement every safety measure possible to keep our students, parents and staff safe. We are

adding extra entrances and drop-off points so parents and students will have more access to schools in the morning, and we will have more personnel on every campus to control traffic.

Part of keeping students safe and focused on learning is proper dress. Certain items are prohibited from wearing while on the school grounds during the school day and at school-sponsored events. For a full explanation of what is included in school uniforms

CONSTRUCTION

Currently, nine projects are being constructed and remodeled at NLRSD as part of our comprehensive Capital Improvement Plan. To date, Meadow Park, Amboy and Indian Hills Elementary Schools have been completed. The North Little Rock High School east parking lot also is complete. Boone Park, Lakewood and Glenview Elementary Schools are almost complete, but their progress was delayed because of inclement weather in the spring. Crestwood,

Ridgeroad, Seventh Street Elementary, and Pike View Pre-K Schools are on schedule for completion. North Little Rock High School is seeing progress on the cafeteria and buildings A, B, C, D and performing arts. The new stadium is complete and will be dedicated at at 7:00 p.m on September 4. Glenview Elementary will host a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. on September 9, and Indian Hills Elementary will have a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. on September 10.
