Christian Fathers face the same pressures as nonbelieving fathers, but they face

them with faith instead of fear.

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13

Brothers and Sisters, Edward Mote wrote the phenomenal words to the hymn: “The Solid Rock.” It starts with, “My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteous-ness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.”

Amen! There is nothing in this world that we can fully put our trust in but Jesus Christ. We don’t have the power to save ourselves from sin and death. It is only by the grace of God that we are able to know Christ and live in His presence daily, and into eternity. Our faith brings us into the connection with God Almighty that we need. There are times when everyone of us gets distracted by the world’s cares, work, technology, enter-tainment, and keeping up with relationships. This song is a reminder that we can’t put our hope in ourselves or anything else because everything is “sinking sand” but our anchor who is found in Christ. This is it. This is our answer! Romans 3:22, “the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus”. Romans 5:5 says, “and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (ESV) This is just a reminder that we have hope because of who Jesus is and what He has accomplished on the cross for us. Our trust needs to be fully in Him and His resurrection. If you have found your-self turning to something or someone more than your risen Savior, remember that He is our only Solid Rock through life! Hold on to Him! In Christ,

Thank you for the opportunity to serve. I know that we did not get all of the projected activities planned completed. A lack of interest in the planning process or similar community activity hap-pening interrupted the budgeted plan submitted. I do have a mission project in mind that requires little prep work. However, without the support of your youth leaders/teachers and announce-

ments, that too will fail. In combination of a news report and a project that BSU has done in the past; I would like to get with the fire chef and see what it would take to walk around offering fire detectors or batteries to homes and also provide a list of our churches and times of service. If your church, youth leader/teacher has an idea that they would like to include the association, please let me know! Pastors, encourage those people to work on bringing all the churches together in the name and love of Je-sus. Vanessa Hamilton NGR Youth Director

Salem- God has given Salem Baptist Church the opportunity to serve Him by serving others. On April 26th, many members, along with Modena Baptist Church and Faith Bible Church, providing, preparing, and serving the Baptist Student Union (BSU) of the North Central Missouri College (NCMC) luncheon. It was a cool rainy day and chilidogs hit the spot.

A devotion was given using Philippians 4:6-7 encouraging the NCMC/BSU students to not worry concerning future endeavors and events of their lives, but to seek God’s will through prayer. Fi-nally, a special thanks to the Salem Baptist Church’s WMU for overseeing this great ministry on this day.

Then on April 30th, the Salemites had a pot-luck luncheon directly after the morning services to celebrate and honor five young people who will be graduating from high school. Karli Crawford (daughter of Scott & Tiffany Crawford), Mor-ganne Farmer (daughter of Mike & Jennifer Farmer), Jasper Hanson (son of Tim & Michelle Hanson), Tylor Doolittle (son of Tom & Kasey Doolittle) will be graduating from Trenton High School, and Hunter Tucker (son of Tim & Lynn Tucker) will be graduating from Liberty High School-Liberty, MO.

Each graduate received a personalized Bible during the celebration. The members of Salem Baptist Church highlighting their personal favorite verse(s) then in each of the graduates Bibles then signed next to it in hopes of encouragement throughout their lives.

To continue with honoring the graduates, many members attended the Trenton High School (THS) Baccalaureate at the First Baptist Church on May 10th, then the THS graduation at the Ketcham Community Center on May 14th.

Also on May 14th, a celebration to Mothers as given. Each mom received three roses and a lot of hugs. Proverbs 31:10-31 was read as not only to honor the woman as a wife, but as a mother.

Finally, on May 7th, Salem Baptist Church began their summer Sunday Night Bible Study at 6:00 pm. The studies is NON-TRADITIONAL in nature (and perhaps somewhat CONTROVERSIAL as some might come with preconceived ideas). These studies includes the subjects: Judaism (then & now), Christian Denominations (who’s right/who’s wrong?), Bible Translations/Versions (which Holy Bible is the “real” one?), and if time permits, Hymns vs Praise Mu-sic (traditional vs contemporary). Anyone & all are invited and encouraged to comeOand to bring your “thoughts and ideas” to the tableObut we all come in the Love & Name of Jesus Christ and we all will leave with the same.

Trenton FBC– The Keenagers have been busy this spring. JA and Chris Keuhn shared about their ministry work in Haiti on April 21st. May 18th they went to Warm Springs to the Clydesdale Horse Farm. On July 7th they will be going to Arrow Rock to see “Oklahoma”. July 21st they will be having breakfast at Moberly Park.

We are having a block party behind the church July 1st at 6:00 pm. Our VBS is scheduled on July 16-20.

During the summer months starting June 4th, there will be an early service starting at 8:00 am with a light breakfast to follow from 9:00 to 9:30 am in the fellowship hall. Sunday School will be at 9:30 am, Sunday Morning Worship at 10:40 am, and Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.

June 11th our Sunday evening service will move to Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe at 5:00 pm for the Nicaragua mission trip fund raiser to help build homes on the mission field.

Union Coon Creek -.The Pastors wife Dianna Crawford, NGR VBS Director led the NGR Special Friends VBS for all

ages, on April 30th. Dianna thought everything went well and would like to thank all who assisted and attended. Thanks

to those from our church and others who helped set up and tear down. Cale Gondringer was our speaker sharing with

everyone the workings of a telescope, and then adding how all the universe, each star, and constellations all fall in place

through only one creator. How awesome God is.

We have had 4 baptisms since the last newsletter and looking forward to more.

For our 5th Sunday service on April 30 Matt Arthaud assisted Micah Knapp in our song service then Matt brought the morning message form Leviticus.

We thank God for all the mothers of our church and association and appreciate all they have done or are doing. Also congratulations to all graduates this year.

We go to Eastview Nursing Home every 3rd Sunday of the month and serve the Celebrate Recovery meal once a month. Be praying for VBS and Camp.
