ABOUT THE TOPIC & COURSE CONTENTS

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform environment to develop server-side Web applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient. Node.js is a distributed development project governed by the Node.js Foundation, and facilitated by the Linux Foundation's Collaborative Projects program.

MongoDB is a cross-platform document-oriented database. Classified as a NoSQL database, MongoDB eschews the traditional table-based relational database structure in favor of JSON-like documents with dynamic schemas, making the integration of applications easier and faster. MongoDB is developed by MongoDB Inc. and is published as free and open-source software under a combination of the GNU Affero General Public License and the Apache License.
