Dear Parents/Caregivers I hope you have all enjoyed a warm and relaxing Queen’s Birthday Weekend. It is hard to believe that at the end of this week we will be halfway through the term. We were saddened over the past fortnight with a death of Mrs Doherty’s husband Paul, who died after a long illness. Paul was a lovely man with a great sense of humour and he will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Mrs Doherty at this very difficult time. The School Parent Support Group has kindly delivered food and flowers on our behalf. The Cross Country will be held for the senior school tomorrow. We have a number of our students who now participate in Club Harriers so the standard continues to be very high. The Milk in Schools Programme seems to be going very well with the children enjoying the opportunity to have free milk alongside their Brain Break food. It is very pleasing to see the large number of students participating in Winter Sports this term. We are very lucky in Invercargill to have such a wide range of opportunities for our children. A highlight for our students was the visit by Dillon Boucher from the New Zealand Breakers last Friday to our School IMPORTANT DATES TERM DATES 5 June: ICAS Science Exam 11 June: Ki O Rahi 13 June: Zone Cross Country 17 June: ICAS Writing Exam 18 June: ICAS Spelling Exam 28 June: Southland Cross Country at Gorge Road 12 July: Last day for Term 2 Term 3: Monday 29 July– Friday 27 Sept 31 July: ICAS English Exam 13 Aug: ICAS Mathematics Exam Term 4: Monday 14 October – Friday 13 December (depends on Teacher Only MATHS CURRICULUM On Tuesday 25 th June at 7.00pm, we will be holding a Maths Curriculum Evening in Room 1.
