Sir, The Union Ministry of Highways and Surface transport and Government of Maharashtra has announced the eight-lane NMSCH project. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) would be the implementing agency. The NMSCE will be developed as a high- density corridor stabling high- speed connectivity between Nagpur and Mumbai. As a first step in this direction the government of Maharashtra has decided to develop and strengthen the linkages and connectivity of major cities of the state with Mumbai, the state capital. Exploring the viability of such connectivity between Nagpur Mumbai, which include links with and through Butibori- Wardha- Karanja- Aurangabad- Sinnar- Ghoti- Vadape along with link from Karanja- Loni- Nagzari. The entire length of proposed Expressway is about 708km and is divided into five packages namely Package-I (Nagpur Division), Package-II (Amravati Division), Package –III (Aurangabad Division), Package –IV (Nashik Division) and Package-V (Mumbai Division). This application is for Package-II- Pulgaon to Sindkhed Raja in Amravati Revenue Region of approximately 258 kms length was discussed and approved in 128 th Meeting of SEAC-I held on 02 nd June 2016, as ‘ B’ Category project (Copy of approved TOR is enclosed). During the verification it is noticed that the proposed alignment of package II is within 5 kms of Katepurna wild life sanctuary due to applicability of general condition of EIA notification 2006, the project becomes ‘A’ category project.
