Durán [email protected] Honors Spanish V is a course intended to develop proficiency and to integrate language skills comparable in difficulty to second and third year college courses. In this course you will use authentic sources to refine the skills of listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. If you have not already taken the Advanced Placement exam, or if you plan on taking it for the second time, this course will help you to further prepare for this exam. In order to keep your skills sharp, you need to keep practicing during the summer. So… please do not wait until the end of the summer to begin these assignments . Pace yourself and try to be in contact with the language at least once a week—perhaps more ! Anytime that you can push yourself to be in contact with authentic language sources, I urge you to do so. My wish is that you will make learning Spanish an integral part of your summer experience. It is the only way you will really learn the language and develop proficiency. Below is the handwritten-in-blue-or-black-ink assignment to be compiled in a three-ringed binder BEFORE you come to the first class meeting in the fall. As you will see, it is consistent with the activities that you have been doing during your AP Spanish course this year. This assignment is to be turned in the first day of class— No late homework will be accepted. That means, if you don’t turn it in on the first day of class, you are starting out without these points. No exceptions! Part I: Article Report You will read one (1) article centered on one (1) of the AP Spanish Language & Culture themes and connected to the Spanish-speaking world (see the anexo at the end of this document for a list of the themes —temas— and their contexts or subtopics —contextos—). Honors Spanish V is a course intended to develop proficiency and to integrate language skills comparable in difficulty to second and third year college courses. So… please do not wait until the end of the summer to begin these assignments. Pace yourself and try to be in contact with the language at least once a week—perhaps more 😉!
