He was mounted, and carried a 6-chambered revolver (Web-ley's), silver mounted. He has not since been heard of, Lewis is a thorough bushman, and was second in command of Colonel Warburton's expedition from South Australia to the North-West coast of this Colony, in 1874, and may now make for the N. HENRY STEIN, exp,, late 633, middling stout, age 54, 5ft, 5|in, bigb, brown bair turning grey, grey eyes, oval visage, fresh complexion, cut mark inside ankle left foot, having in bis possession one hammer, one square, and one punch, well knowing tbe same to bave been stolen or unlawfully obtained. Dated Bunbury, 14tb July, 1880. This man is at present undergoing a sentence.

ABRAHAM, ab. nat,, did, on tbe 13tb July inst., spear ab, nat. woman Annie Kickett, with intent to do grievous bodily barm, and from tbe effect of such spear she has since died. Dated Northam, 19th July, 1880. For description of this offender, see P.G., 1880, page 108. I t is reported that this native is near Charles Taylor's, Grass Valley.

Miscellaneous. MATHEW BATEMAN ; charged at Pinjarrah, on

Uth inst., by P.C Holmes, with supplying spirituous liquor to ab, nat. Tommy Dower, on 14tb inst. Fined £5 and costs.

On the 21st inst,, the Government tool shed at North Fremantle Quarry was broken into by two hoards being removed from tbe front of tbe sbed. Nothing stolen.

On tbe 15th inst,, ab. natives Toungie and Sammy, stole a quantity of rations from Joseph Jackson's team, near Narrabine, Williams District, Next morning a party consisting of Joseph Jackson, William Turnstile, George Clamp, George Smith, and ab. nat. Cracko, went in pursuit. After following them about 30 miles East they came on them while they were asleep, and secured them and returned to Band-ding where they cam])ed for tbe night; they also found 4 guns, with powder, shot, and caps, which they kept in their possession; during tbe night of tbo 17th these two natives escaped carrying away ono double barrel gun; they took tbe bobbles and bell of the horses, and next morning Jackson and Smith were left at the camp in charge of one woman while tbe rest went after their horses. Shortly after the woman wanted some water, and Smith went to the pool with her, and while he was standing on a rock watching the woman Toungie stepped from

behind a tree and fired at bim striking bim in tbe right side; Smith fell, and on regaining his feet Toungie fired a second time striking bim in the face and arms, Tbe natives then made off. Smith is now at tbe Wilbams under medical treatment.
