Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen. Cross Country: The forecast is again ominous for tomorrow and it might be a challenge to complete, so we will cancel. Yr 5-8 pupils vying for Zone selection will have an opportunity next week, but we’ll need to fit in with the weather, so they need to bring that running gear each day next week. Australian ICAS Competition – Yr 3-8 Benefits of sitting an ICAS exam include: helping to understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses; tracking your child’s progress, year to year; your child can gain valuable test experience in an independent setting; receive a UNSW Certificate of Achievement. For more information go to www.eaa.unsw.edu.au/school- portal. See also the Practice Online for examples of the tests for pupils’ preparation. If you are able to assist in supervising children on any of the sitting dates please let me know. Please post the entry form and fees in the Office countrslot by Friday 3 July. Thank you. The Board of Trustees of New Brighton Catholic School met on Tuesday 23 June 2020 and the following were discussed.

• The Principal’s report was presented by Deb Daines and a discussion commenced on school activity to date.

• An update on the Level 2 and Level 1 Covid procedures was discussed.

• The Board have viewed the feedback received regarding the community consultation on the Level 2 practices.

• The Board has approved the following: - The May Accounts Payable and schedule of receipts - The contract variation for Fusion Networks Limited, the school internet service provider - The purchase of 2 more smart screens for the new building - The investigation into consultancy for updating and maintaiin the NBC website

• The Board has agreed to opt into the School donation scheme for 2021, with more information to follow regarding the donation process in terms of camp and Yrs 7/8 Technology.

• The BOT accepts with regret the resignation of Maureen Kerr as a Proprietor’s Representative. Maureen has served the NBC Board for 5 years providing experience and knowledge as an educator and as a trustee. She will be greatly missed and we thank her most sincerely for her tremendous contribution and service to NBC.

• Due to this resignation, the Bishop is looking for potential candidates to fill a Proprietor Representative seat on the Board. Expressions of interest can be made through [email protected]

• We have a space for a Parent trustee, and again expressions of interest can be made to [email protected]

• The Board are working on a parent/school agreement, which we hope to gather feedback from once the document is prepared.

• The 2020 Charter was discussed and the BOT reviewed the changes thus far. This document provides the foundation to the learning that we aspire to provide to our students. The Charter sets the goals, aims and the process on how we can achieve. If you would like a copy or wish to know more, please contact the board.

• Catholic Special Character report presented that Father Benito would be our Priest on the Board, and in conjunction with our Proprietor Rep and our DRS, Angel, the group would meet to work together.

• The Board confirmed the dates for the upcoming meetings for the rest of the year.
