Managed distribution to 54 stores in the United States with a department consisting of seven managers and over 100 warehouse associates.

Responsible for developing organizational infrastructure to support distribution increase of 27 to 54 retail stores, resulting in sales growth from $31 million to $195 million.

Analyzed productivity demands and implemented a new shift structure to increase productivity and meet distribution demands.

Oversaw a department consisting of 10 managers/supervisors, and over 190 warehouse and transportation employees. Improve all functions of a 24-hour, 7 days a week operation consisting of dry grocery, and fresh produce and meat. Responsible for an on-site cutting facility for meat, poultry, and seafood. Developed and executed a fiscal budget of over $32 million annually.

Expense reduction in warehousing and transportation of over 13% in first year, including a staff reduction of 18% to meet budget requirements while maintaining superior customer service.

Designed truck specifications to be used nationally to maximize delivery efficiencies.

Developed and implemented driver, selector, and warehouse employee handbook and attendance policy to optimize employee performance and improve moral.

Consolidated two meat operations into one location 100 miles away and managed the complexity of this arrangement. Within a year a fire required the operation to be moved back on site, and was successfully transitioned with USDA certification within 6 days.

Director of Operations, North Bergen, NJ 1983-1999Responsible for managing operations for a $650 million foodservice distribution facility serving the Metropolitan New York area. Temporary position appointed to assist in closing down an operation in a hostile union environment. Expertise in dealing in hostile environments while maintaining customer focus. Managed a staff of 12 supervisors and over 200 Teamster Union employees in a 600,000 sq. ft. warehouse. Successful closure and transition of business to a new location 100 miles south took place with minimal interruption in quality or customer service.

Managed all functions of a $72 million distribution center serving central and eastern Virginia.
