A sonic array, mounted in the back bumper, measures the distance to an obstacle as you reverse towards it and emits warning beeps that increase in intensity as you get closer. The side claddings are made of strong and resilient plastic mouldings that help protect the doors from dents, road grit and stones.

3/ Bumper corner protection. Available for the front (11) and rear bumpers (15), these mouldings add individual style as well as efficient protection against scratches.

Nissan’s roof carriers are designed to free you of all constraints : choose from steel or aluminium loadcarriers with a maximum load of 94kg, to form the basis of a strong and highly versatile system - ready to take additional bicycle or ski carriers, a luggage rack or various roofboxes.

1EVALUATING TOWING OPTIONS

X-TRAIL is a very capable towing vehicle and there’s a choice of options to help you make the most of its ability. As well as different towbar types, there’s an ingenious and convenient towbar mounted bicycle carrier that supports 2 bikes. Close to ground level, it’s easy to load and unload. Available in 2 versions: 7 Pin TEK or 13 pin TEK compatible.

4/ Removable towbar (39) mounted / removed. When the towbar is removed, place the cap on the fixed part to prevent mud or dirt entering the towbar aperture.

5/ Towbar-mounted bicycle carrier (43-44). Easy to fit onto the vehicle’s towbar with no adjustment needed, it can carry up to two bikes. Clever and practical, it tilts when mounted to allow quick access to your trunk.

1ORGANISING LOAD SPACE Use X-TRAIL’s big load space to maxi-

mum advantage with these functional accessories. The trunk divider is a neat idea for keeping, for example, your dog and your luggage separate, while the partition rack prevents loads (or dogs) from coming into the passenger area.

Featured accessories:2/ Soft trunkliner (33). Quickly and easily fitted, adds protection to the standard trunk covering. Plus horizontal luggage net (84), which prevents loads from sliding around, and tailgate entry guard (28) to prevent scratches to the paintwork when loading and unloading.
