Chelsea Fringe at Nine Elms on the South Bank puts the spotlight on local community events around Vauxhall and Battersea, where horticulture and gardens have a strong heritage and continue to define the area; including landmarks New Covent Garden Market, Battersea Park, Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and various pocket parks. Our Chelsea Fringe celebrates the area’s heritage and looks to the future, including improvement works currently underway to the Thames River Path; which ultimately will link Battersea Park to the South Bank in a 2km stretch through the area. 2015 also marks the start of work on the linear park, a green route that will link Battersea Power Station to Vauxhall Cross, and pick up again along a green Vauxhall walkway, ‘The Missing Link’; the first phase of which has just been completed. The projects this year highlight the flourishing communities in this area of developing transformation, whilst giving a glimpse of things to come.
