Background• Largest ever survey of the third sector. • Funded by the Office of the Third Sector
(Cabinet Office); researched independently• Recognises increasingly important role the third
sector plays in both society and the economy. • Presents a picture of the state of the third
sector• Helps to inform local partnerships when
developing local strategies to create an environment for a thriving third sector.
