It is time for reinventing management. Offering understanding of the management issues that arise when ‘continuous creative business development’ has to be a core competency of the organisation, recognizing the difficulties in the simultaneous orchestration of the existing (transaction) and the innovative (transformation) activities in the field of product and/or market and/or primary process. Dr. Liliya Terzieva completed her promotion on the competitive advantages of leisure and tourism organizations and has been busy with the organizational development issues within the new managerial paradigm for the last 7 years. She will ‘host’ the evening: introducing the books , presenting the students and empowering the interactive discussion with the participants at the end of the session. Conscious Capitalism Liberating the Heroic spirit of Business by John Mackey and Raj Sisodia, 2013, Harvard Business Review. “Conscious Capitalism” promotes a business culture that embodies “trust, accountability, caring, transparency, integrity, loyalty and egalitarianism.” The management ideal of “Conscious Capitalism” contains four key elements of “decentralization, empowerment, innovation and collaboration.” Above all, this exemplary form of business practice relies on careful attention to four tenets: higher purpose and core values, stakeholder integration, conscious leadership and conscious culture and management. Effectual Entrepreneurship by Stuart Read, Saras Sarasvathy, Nick Dew, Robert Wiltbank, Anne-Valérie Ohlsson , 2010, Routledge. So what is `effectual entrepreneurship’ about? Effectuation is a way of creating a business that is prepared to acknowledge irreducible uncertainty: the market cannot be defined; consumers are not aware of their future preferences; new technologies may emerge; available data are incomplete and conflicting. Acknowledging these constraints means that we can only have modest expectations as regards the usefulness of market research and competitive analysis to lead us to new opportunities. The hyperconnected society, complexity thinking, design thinking, today we realize that our conventional thinking falls short in coping with much of the organizational and societal issues we face today. We need new thinking and new competencies in order to make our organizations fl ourish in today’s society. Designing conversations – is about creative processes, meaning making, generative dialogue and critical/creative thinking producing transformation in the context of organizations. In order to design effective interventions, it is important to prepare the space in order to engage participants, generating a sense of responsibility and commit-ment. For that some methods and tools can be applied in order to work with individuals, groups and organizations as a whole. As a professional of the 21st century it is fundamental to develop a “hybrid tool box”, being able to design a conversation / a creative session, asking powerful questions, taking into account the context and the local needs of the involved. Celiane Camargo-Borges is the host of this evening. Her work focuses on relational forms of practices creating a more effective means of collaboration and decision making. She is interested in exploring how individuals can come together through dialogic relations – cultivating interaction participation and collaboration.
