"For many years, mot ion pic ture film was manufac tu red with a suppor t ing film base of cellulose nitrate, commonly called nitrocel- lulose. Since 1951, no cellulose nitrate film base of any kind has been manufac tu red in the Uni ted States. Also, ¢~cept for a re, tuber of anoroved soecial venues, the use of cellulose nitrate film in theaters has vlrtually ceased. However, large quanti t ies of cellulose nitrate fi lm for archival or o ther purposes still exist in storage. This storage will cont inue for many years.

(See ANS1/NAPM IT9.11-1993 Para. 4.1.1, and SMPTE Recommended Practices for the Archiving of Motion Picture Film.) EXPLANATION OF NEGATIVE: LAND: 2-7.1 should be 2-7. This paragraph only discusses heating.

Changing tide does nothing except confuse the issue. There is no th ing in it flaat discusses cooling or refrigeration. WOODY: The absence of any t reatment of cooling and refrigera-

2-7.1.4 All radiators, heating coils, pipes, and returns that are near the floor or so located as to permit contact with any combustible material, waste, or dirt shall be guarded and protected with 1/4-in. slfieids such as those illustrated in Figure A-5.4.3 shall be permit ted to be used for de tached storage buildings storing less than 5000 Ib (2270 kg) of orgaaic peroxide formulations in those areas where the temperature inside the storage building can approach or exceed the maximum recommended storage temperature.

2. Revise the wording of existing A-5.4.3 to read: A-5.4.3 The following diagram is an example o f t building for

storing less than 5000 Ib (2270 kg) of organic peroxide formulations for de tached storage as allowed by 5.4.3.

COMMITTEE STATEMENT: 1: The Committee has revised the wording of 5-4.3 to clarify that dais building construction is permit- ted for buildings storing less than 5000 Ib of organic peroxide formulations. This provision has been based on tests dlat demon- st.rate that dais construction keeps the temperature of die stored organic peroxide formulations lower than other construction types.
