Ridgewood Homecoming

Once again the CCCC provided convertibles for the Queen and Maids of the Ridgewood High School Homecoming. Participating were Felix, Mary (in Gordon’s car), Wayne, Richie and me. These two young ladies rode with me and are posing with their fathers. I

will say that they did not stop talking the whole time we rode around the track. It is amazing what teen age girls will talk about and I guess to them I was just part of the car

so they were obviously uninhibited. The Homecoming Queen is on the left and doesn’t Mary look good driving a C6? Speaking of Mary, we were all standing

by the cars watching the game and rooting for the home team when Mary asks, “What does the “”G” stand for?” Then I hear Felix say, “home plate.” I am thinking to myself, that was not a wise or prudent thing to say and the reaction will likely be swift and will probably leave a mark. “Ouch” says Felix rubbing his ribs, “It is the goal line”. Without change her expression Mary says, “Oh”. As we go through life we should learn from our mistakes; however, I don’t think Felix is a very good student and therefore he must pay the price.

Extravetteganza

The GNOCC Extravetteganza was held and once again as always was a great show. I did not take a lot of pictures but there were some very interesting cars there and even one car from Chicago. Long trip I must say but I am sure worth it. Lots of entries in the valve cover race and a couple were so good they ran off the end track for a tie.

There were some cars from Baton Rouge with some beautiful art work under the hood.

Also it was great to see Joan out and around after her surgery.

The CCCC won the club participation award and after accepting the $100 Mary donated it to the GNOCC charity in appreciation for the many times they have donated their award to Children’s Hospital.

When they anounced the 50/50 drawing I looked at my wad of tickets. As they were calling out 6987.. I am almost beside my self with joy as I knew I had 698755 and must surely win the $1370 prize. Alas as I am frantically going through my tickets I see Mary out of the corner of my eye holding up a ticket. The winning ticket was 698798 and my tickets were 698755 and below. I was almost a contender and Nancy was not there to take it away from me. Damn…

When accepting the award Felix donated $500 to the charity so he has $870 left to put in Mary’s C7 convertible fund.
