LEARNING NOT TO COMPROMISE
GEN- 12:1-4,13:1
TO COMPROMISE MEANS TO MAKE CONCESSIONS OR ACCOMMODATE SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT AGREE WITH YOUR BELIEFS OR STANDARDS.
The word compromise does not appear in the bible, though it is a common word in political, labor, marital, and parental disputes. Can we use this principle in religion? In our relationship with God? Compromise involves sacrifice of principles. As Christians can we do this? No… word of God says in 2 Cor- 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.
.WHY PEOPLE COMPROMISE:
For material gain: There are many churches that are weak and unwilling to take a stand against some false doctrine or immoral per-son, they compromise the truth for a better building, large numbers and social status.
Family ties – many are willing to compro-mise their faith because of circumstances within their family and close friends. Gen- 12:1-4,13:1,
Matt- 10:37-38 anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not wor-thy of me; anyone who loves his son and daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Fear – pilate had fear of crowd and also fear of politcal status and his position. Matt-27:17-19
Desire to avoid confrontation. Prov-18:1
Lack of faith – Heb-11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please him.
HOW WE CAN LEARN NOT TO COMPROMISE?
POWER TO SAY NO TO SIN : by gods grace we are given power to say no to sin, 2 TIM-1:7 FOR GOD DID NOT GIVE US A SPIRIT OF TIMIDITY, BUT A SPIRIT OF POW-ER. MATT- 5:37 LET YOUR YES BE YES AND YOUR NO, NO’ANYTHING BEYOND THIS COMES FROM THE EVIL ONE.’’ WATCH YOUR ATTITUDE- a) Attitude that promote compromise: JAM-3:13-16 –
Selfishness, half-heartedness, proud, arrogance, weakness, doublemindedness.
RESPECT FOR GODS WORD- JOB-23:12, PSALM-138:2
GROUND YOUR LIFE IN THE TRUTH – EPH-6:13 ‘’Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything, to stand.’’

REFLECTING ON THE PAST WITH A GRATEFUL HEART:
Praise the lord ,
We the 46th batch GNM, SON,DHR are thankful to the Lord for
showering his blessing and grace upon us. We are grateful to God
for making our journey successful during the 3 years of trainning
at School of nursing. Though the journey was tough and challeng-
ing but through the support and guidance of our principal mam, all
the tutors, seniors, spiritual mentors, warden aunty, duncan fami-
ly and all well wishers abd our families who stood by us, we were
able to sustain and complete our trainning. We would like to thank
you all for your love and encouragement throughout the journey.
We had started our trainning from 1st October 2016. It was challenging for us to adjust in the
new environment with different people, language and far away from our family. But in each diffi-
cult situation, and personal family problems, our creator gives us a glimpse of hope in the sacred
silver lining. It's the place where God was working all things together for our good. It's where the
hidden blessings were stored, though not easy to find out but they were always there.
We as bathchmates came to know each other, gathered around the table together and broke
bread. We studied together, worked and prayed together, had fun and shared our tears together
in times of trials. We carried the candles and lite the lamps together, something that will stay in
our memory for ever.
We have learnt lots of things and again we are thankful to almighty Ğod. We are confident that he who began a
good work in us, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
