The Best Place………..to celebrate the Fourth of July is in Community Hall on Wednesday morning July 4th at 10:15 am where our own Bob Ivey will lead us in singing
our favorite patriotic songs! We will begin with our effervescent Colonel “Quincy” (Collins, not Sanders!) leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the National Anthem. We will have fun singing America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Battle Hymn of The Republic, Dixie, God Bless America, all of the Armed Forces songs and several others. You do not need to memorize the words as you will have a program. Assisting will be Brad Clark on drums and Charles Osborne, guest soloist. The program will conclude with Bob’s rousing rendition of The Stars and Stripes Forever as we all proceed to the wonderful annual Cypress Fourth of July Picnic! campus in east Charlotte. The Revolutionary War-era home of Hezekiah Alexander is located on the grounds of the Charlotte Museum of History. Built in 1774, this two-story stone house is the oldest surviving structure in Mecklenburg County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hello Chef’s dinner fans! We are constantly striving to improve our sign up process for the dinners; so hopefully this change in the sign up procedure will help. Beginning Friday, July 5th at 12 Noon, the sign up sheets for the next Monday and Tuesday will be in the lobby by the water station. Sign on the appropriate clipboard for either Monday night or Thursday night (40 spaces for each night). Michelle will notify those who are “in” for Monday on Friday and Thursday on Monday via email or phone.
