Ithasbeenanextremelybusytermanditdoesn’tlooktobeslowingdownanytimesoon.Wehavestartedour‘VirtualClassroom’ProjectwhereMarra,GirilamboneandHermidalemeetovertheVideoConferenceeachweektoparticipateinarigorousEnglishunit(ourfirstonethistermwasbasedaround‘TheTreasureBox”byMargeretWild.Thebenefitsofthesecollaborativelessonsarethatthereisalargercohortineachstagesodiscussionsandquestionsaremorevariedandalsoitisgoodtoworktogetherwithotherteachersandtoseeourfriendsatotherschools.TobyandJettravelledtoQuambone(thankstoLeannefortransporting)toattendaPersonalDevelopmenttalk.Theylearnedalotandweheardsomefunnystories!!WewerehappytohavetheJohnstonKidshereuntiltheycouldgobacktoCarindaSchool.WealsowouldliketowishSamaspeedyrecoveryandwehopeheisbackupandaboutatfullspeedsoon.MrsSallyOateswillcontinueonintheLearningandSupportTeacherRolein2017takingoverfromJuliaSteele.ThankyoutoAlexfordoingthecleaningroleoverthepastcoupleofyears,nextyearKelliewillbetakingoverthecleaningrollinadditiontotheGeneralAssistantduty.TheSalvationArmyrepresentativescametoschoolonThursdayduringweek4.Theyreadastorytothestudentscalled‘Grandpa’sGarden’andthekidsconstructedaGratefulTreewheretheywroteonleavesthingstheyweregratefulfor.Theyalsodidcraftactivitieswiththestudents.Agardengnomewasgiftedtothestudentsforthemtopaintanddecorate.KindyStarthasseenCharlesandKataylorjoiningusonTuesdays.Theyaresettlinginverywell.Plansareunderwayfortheendofyearconcert.Thechildrenhavebeenworkinghardpreparingitemsfortheassemblyandpractisingashortplay.WehopeyouwillattendonWednesday14thDecembertohelpcelebratetheachievementsofthestudentsandtheschool.
