From The Principal
STEM Training
Last week we hosted Micro:bit training through
a Rural Education initiative in collaboration with
Southern Cross Distance education. Micro:bit is
technology launched by the BBC in England and
can be coded in multiple ways.Miss Brooksby and
Mrs Downing took part in the training and we
now have both the skills and devices for senior
students to be able to learn coding.
PRINCIPAL’S AWARDS
Last week’s champions were:
Lincoln Behsman - Consistent effort in all areas.
Tom Dudley - Fantastic reading improvement
and application in class
Brydey Maher - A fantastic effort on her
recount about her artwork
Jarren Richards - Working well in Mathematics
on the topic of volume
Jhett Bullivant - Improvements leading to a
positive attitude in reading
Brodie Barlow - Application to his work
Ben Dunmore - Increase enthusiasm and appli-
cation to tasks
Frida Gallpen-Brown - Fantastic attitude and
book work in the library

Regional Spelling Bee
Today we hosted the Regional finals of the
Premier’s Spelling Bee. Schools from across the
southern Riverina region participated in the
event. Thank you to Mrs Hunter, Miss Brooksby
and some of our senior students for their
organisation of this event. In the Junior section
our school was represented Jarren Richards and
Angus Lawson. Jarrod Bashford and Abbey
Lawson represented the Stage 3 students.
Literacy Training
This week Miss Harris, Mrs Tubb and Miss
Brooksby are attending their second session in
Literacy training at Moulamein PS. This will build
on the skills learnt and put in place over the last
term.
SASS Appreciation Week
Last week students and staff thanked the
School Administration and Support Staff for all
that they do for our students and the school.
Students made thank you cards and art work for
staff.
DNPS VIP PLAYGROUND AWARD WINNERS
This week’s awards go to students who willingly took
on additional roles and responsibilities when other
students were at the DPSSA Athletics Carnival.

Records are not kept for the
Infants Athletics carnival
events however we think we
might have a winner. Seth
threw the discus so far that it
hit the fence and that is the
furthest throw that anyone
can remember. Keep your eye
out for his name in future
primary carnivals, no pressure
though!

THIS WEEK’S WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY WHO IS PRESENTING AN ITEM THIS WEEK? It is the turn of TOM Students to perform at this
week’s whole-school assembly.
The weekly assembly will begin at 12.30pm on
FRIDAY, and will be held in the school hall.

3/4M Studying Volume
We are working on volume and capacity in
maths and students were investigating
how volume can be displayed in different
ways.
Here are some photos of students dis-
playing the volume of 333 cubic centime-
tres.

days! Here is Matilda copying super
coach Hunter’s instructions at half
time.
Harley is also displaying his prowess
at jumping that had him progress so
far in the high jump at Athletics.

2019 Kinder Enrolments
Do you know anyone who would like to enrol their
child in Kindergarten at Deniliquin North School in
2019, please contact the school on 5881 1042.
Infants Dentist Visit As part of our Personal Health unit the Infants
will be having a visit by the Community Education
dentist. Students will learn about dental hygiene,
foods and cleaning techniques.
