I would like to kindly ask you to start your read by observing our new logo at the top of this page. It has been a great moment for us redefining our brand – one that has been developed over the last two months and marks our vision and ambitions going forward. The concept of a Global Community as an adaptable system illustrates a harmonious neighbourhood and highlights how this can be achieved through the balanced application of our four pillars. Human and approachable, the logo also presents a technological under-current. Alongside the new visual identity, we have also created a new tagline which summarizes our vision: “Places that Matter”. We believe in better affordable housing, which uses smart technologies and social infrastructure to enhance people’s lives and establish strong supportive communities. Together, we are pioneering new standards for affordable housing around the globe which will create lasting value for our business, communities and future generations. It is fundamental that everyone at Planet understands our user-centred approach to building smart affordable neighbourhoods. Technologies, architectural, planning and sustainable solutions have one main aim: provide safe and smart places that put people at the heart of each project. Planet’s proposition has been gaining momentum and new business opportunities are progressing well. We have signed a preliminary agreement with India to develop 4,000 smart affordable housing units in Pune, three new areas are under due diligence in Brazil, where a new partnership is also on the horizon. There is plenty of exciting news to unfold in the next few months. We are also making progress on an organizational level. This month, we welcome Angelo Bestazzi, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Gabriele Pala, Chief Financial Officer. Alongside Janaína Campoy, responsible for Communication, they strengthen our expanding Global Executive Committee, based in London. They are Planet’s driving force and are shaping this company for a successful present and a prosperous future. Thank you for all your work. Warm regards, Gianni Savio Global CEO Message from the CEO Laguna: celebrating local culture Whilst infrastructure work has progressed into its second phase, sector 1 on the first phase, called Musicians Neighbourhood, is taking shape beautifully as avenues and streets have gained their first street signs. Due to heavy and unusual rain in the region, the schedule to finish these houses are to be confirmed as soon as the weather clears up. Counting the 63 houses delivered in April, the neighbourhood will soon have 116 residences. With more houses being delivered soon, the sales team now has a dedicated space on the Innovation Hub in order to welcome prospects clients interested in learning more about the city and how to acquire a lot or a house. Bruno Cantalupo, the sales manager who specialises in houses sales, is leading a team that has been raising awareness about the city within the local community and several houses are at an advance stage of negotiation. Mobility has also improved in the region and a new bus route now links São Gonçalo do Amarante to Laguna. The itinerary covers the cities of Umarituba, Russinha and Violete and offers seven trips throughout the day. In order to make the journey easier for residents, Planet is building two stops connecting different points of the city. In Brazil, three new preliminary agreements have been signed in key locations: João Pessoa (capital of Paraíba), Recife (capital of Pernambuco) and Teresina (capital of Piauí), all located in the Northeast of the country. Due diligence in the areas is underway and after its conclusion we will be ready to sign further agreements. The strategy is to analyze various areas at the same time and acquire only those ones that, after thorough due diligence, are the most promising and best aligned with Planet’s concept. Furthermore, we are analyzing another opportunity in São Paulo, the largest city in South America, located in the Southeast of the country. “It is an excellent possibility for partnership with the Inloop Desenvolvimento Imobiliário -- a solid and ambitious group, with a successful history of real estate development throughout the state of São Paulo. Planet is in conversations with Inloop CEO, Edoardo Peralta, and its CFO, Fabiano Cordaro, with whom the team has immediately established an excellent relationship. The partnership involves the creation of 1,200 intelligent housing units in a 15-story tower development in an excellent location, located within the capital of São Paulo. Negotiations with India have moved forward and after a visit to our Turin office in April, Kolte-Patil’s president Rajesh Patil, one of the real estate leaders in the Pune region, and Planet have signed a term sheet covering the development of a smart neighborhood of about 4,000 housing units in Pune.
