We hope that you have planned some exciting activities to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day this weekend. We would like as many people to join in as possible, including staff. Next week we will produce a social commemorative newsletter to mark the occasion, so please send in photos of your family celebrating to your class teacher via Dojo or the Parent Portal by Wednesday, 13th May. Thank you.

In the meantime, there are many activities for you to access regarding VE Day on our website (Parents’ Page) which is updated weekly.

SCHOOL ASSEMBLY SONG! The staff have been busy videoing themselves singing the School Assembly Song, “Reach for the Stars”. Their filming has now been edited and we hope to have it up on our website and on Dojo today Please look out for it. Thank you to Louisa Roalf and Sam Black for organising this for us.

BANJO CLASS Gary has been busy counting cars and doing some great reading with his family. Meanwhile, Gavin has produced a lovely rainbow when not out searching for any forgotten Easter eggs. Max has been sorting out which foods contain sugar and Jack has been working off any excess sugar he may have eaten by using his exercise bike!

SUMMER FETE As you will have probably worked out by now, it is very unlikely we will be holding our annual Summer Fete this year. However, as this event brings in good funding for the school, the Friends of Icknield are looking at the viability of having a fete in the Autumn term We will keep you updated.

DRUM CLASS Nev has been working hard practising his fine motor skills and colour pattern repeating. He has made a beautiful necklace in red and blue to celebrate VE Day. Great work Nev. (We hope the tooth fairy has been to visit recently—despite lockdown!)

TRUMPET CLASS The children in Trumpet Class have been busy in the kitchen, baking and blending many delicious recipes. They have also had fun video calling their friends.

FE Brody visited the Fairy Tree at Ladies Walk and placed his beautifully painted stones there which he had worked very hard on to say thank you to the

NHS, key workers and carers. He also helped prepare some vegetables for dinner. Jazz has been helping her mum with the laundry by hanging it up to dry and also baking some delicious food. Charlie has practised some origami by creating a paper plane.

This is a 12-week consultation that ends at midnight on 31st May 2020.

CHIMES CLASS We have received some lovely photos from our Chimes Class’ parents recently. Here we can see Abel exploring his play gym, Ava using some sensory balloons and Olly making

the most of the lovely weather we have been having by using his swing. PLEASE COULD ALL PARENTS KEEP SENDING PHOTOS IN SHOWING THE CHILDREN DOING VARIOUS ACTIVITES FOR THE NEWSLETTER . IT’S A GREAT WAY TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH EACH OTHER.
