Dear all,
It is my pleasure to address you through the 57 edition of the “MKSF Newsletter’’. Initially let me inform you that for me it
was very important the official meeting with Mr. John Manza, the deputy assistant of NATO Secretary General, for
operational issues as well as the discussion we had.
I also was honored to host the French Ambassador Mr. Didier Chabert, the Belgium Attache Mr. Yves Cuvelier and other
international personalities. I delivered letter of acknowledgement for NALT officers, Mr. Mark Theobald from the UK and
Mr. David Nixon from the United States of America upon the occasion of ending the service.
In the month of April we have invited all friends and partners in the 8th conference in a row ”KSF and Partners’’, during April
also took place the KSF and International competition “Best Soldier of 2018". Great results marked also the joint Exercise
KFOR-KSF "Silver Sabre 18".
General Rama visited the Kosovo Security Force teams, respectively the Search and Rescue teams which were engaged by
order for two weeks in search operations in Lepenc River, until the two disappeared members of Kosovo Police were found
after the car accident they had in the road Kaqanik–Hani i Elezit.
The Secretary General Shkëlzen Sylaj stayed for a visit in the Ministry of Armed Forces of UK and had a meeting with the
Minister of Armed Forces Mr. Mark Lancaster.
Also, on 4th of April was marked “The International Day of Mine Awareness’’, and we participated in the action organized
for “Earth Day”. Furthermore a series of certification ceremonies took place; e.g in Training and Doctrine Command was
conducted the Field Exercise,Skënderbeu-2018’’, then Mountain Search and Rescue Basic Course Cadets were certified,
,,Tactics in Small Units”, ,,Civil-Military Operations” training was completed, conducted by American instructors, NATO
Legal Structure and Partnerity seminar as well a s Cyber Security Workshop which was conducted by Iowa officers-USA,
Turkish Armed Forces Musical Band Concert etc.

Minister of KSF hosted Mr. John Manza, Dep/Assistant of General
Secretary to NATO related to operational affairs
Minister of KSF, Rrustem Berisha together with the KSF Commander, Lt. Gen. Rrahman Rama, accompanied by officials and
senior of the Ministry and the KSF hosted a senior delegation of NATO headed by Mr. John Manza, Dep/Minister of General
Secretary of NATO who was accompanied to the meeting, also by the Dep/Director of NALT, Mr. Mark Theobald.
Minister Berisha has highly appreciated so far cooperation with NATO and has thank for given contribution of NALT in MKSF
and the KSF as well good cooperation with KFOR. He mentioned good cooperation with neighboring countries particular
with those who have signed bilateral cooperation. On this occasion he spoke about success of non-majority community
integration in the KSF especially of the Serbian community.
Commander of KSF, Rrahman Rama on his speech informed the senior delegation from Brussels with the KSF activities;
cadets successes in different countries of the world; the KSF successes in the operational areas; training level with NATO
standard; the KSF participation to trainings and international field exercises; preparation for the April Conference “KSF and
Partners”; preparation for conducting of the FTX “Eagle -6”, where will be participating 12 partner countries of Kosovo. In
his speech, he mentioned that the KSF has made all preparation plans for the KSF transformation and awaits for political
decision. As a priority, the KSF Commander made a request that the KSF be a provider of security through Peace Support
Operations.
On his side, Mr. John Manza, Dep/Assistant of General Secretary to NATO expressed to be satisfied with the KSF
achievements, estimating that as a new Institution you have moved a lot forward. You have done everything in a proper
way. As a KSF, you are highly represented by your cadet`s performance to Military Academy abroad. You have done an
excellent work for integration of non-majority communities. Changes for the KSF transformation shall be done on
constitutional basis. Stay focused on achieving of long-term objectives.

General Secretary, Mr. Shkëlzen Sylaj stayed for a visit in Ministry of
Armed Forces of United Kingdom
A delegation of Ministry for Kosovo Security Force
(MKSF) headed by the General Secretary, Mr.
Shkëlzen Sylaj upon invitation of Minister of Armed
Forces of the United Kindgom, Mr.Mark Lancaster
visited the UK and Northern Ireland. The General
Secretary of MKSF, Mr. Sylaj primarily met
Minister of Armed Forces, Mark Lancaster, then
Chief of Europian Policy, Mrs.Paula Hothersall as
well with Director of International Security Policies,
Mr.Nick Gurr.
The General Secretary, Shkëlzen Sylaj informed
Minister Lancaster with developments of the Kosovo
Security Forces and the security situation of
Republic of Kosovo. Also, in a meeting was
expressed the readiness by both parties for deepening
of cooperation among the MKSF and the MoD of
United Kingdom.
Two companies of Rapid Reaction Brigade completed training “Force
Generation”
Pristina, 04 April 2018. Company 3A of the third Battalion
and company 2A of the second Battalion of the RRB within
realization of annual plan completed training “Force
Generation”, which is conducted dated 09.01 up to
29.03.2018. This training is closed with field exercise “Wolf
2018’’.
Two exercises were a joint training activity among KSF,
Skenderaj Municipality ,Istog Municipality, Kosovo`s Police,
Emergencies Center, Local governmental and non-
governmental security agencies which operate in
Skenderaj and Istog Municipality.
Purpose of these exercises was growth of interoperability
of the KSF with other Institutions who operate in
responsibility areas of the second and third Battalion of
the RRB. Specialized Units of Search-Rescue and ChNBP of
Civil protection Regiment of the KSF.

Marking of International Day of Awareness against Mines
Since 1999 in Kosovo are cleared 51,216, 184 square meters and disposal 88,895 mines and unexploded ordnance.
From mines and other unexploded ordnance lost lives 117 citizens and seriously injured were 463 persons.
The Kosovo Security Force together with international organizations for demining who operate in Kosovo marked
4th April – International Day of Awareness against Mines and other Unexploded Ordnance . Attended
International school of unexploded ordnance disposal (EOD) in Kosovo, MAT Kosovo, HALO Trust and NPA.
This day was marked in Peja, yesterday. Also, attended: BG. Nazmi Brahimaj – Director of Department of
Operations and Trainings of MKSF General Randy Powell – KFOR Chief of Staff, Col. Nick Ducich – KFOR
Commander on- East in Bondstell, Ahmet Sallova – Director of Demining Coordination Center in MKSF ,KFOR
representative and Kosovo Police and NGOs operating in Kosovo.
Despite clearing of many mined areas in Kosovo have remained 98 mine affected areas or cassette bombs ”.Mr.
Sallova continued his speech revealing some indicators of results: “Starting demining operation since 1999, are
cleared 51,216, 184 square meters and found and destroyed 88,895 mines and unexploded ordnance. Despite these
results we should not forget the fact that since the war and up to date, 117 have lost life persons due to mines and
other explosive ordnance and 463 persons suffered serious body injuries”.
At the end, is made presentation of demining equipment and overall achievements of the participating
organizations in Kosovo.

Minister Rrustem Berisha hosted for an official meeting the
Ambassador of France Didier Chabert
Minister of Ministry for Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Rrustem Berisha hosted France's extraordinary and all-
powerful ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Didier Chabert. Minister Berisha, on this occasion thanked Ambassador
Didier Chabert and through him State Secretary at Ministry of Armies of France, Mrs. Genevieve Darrieussecq for
reception paid to Minister Berisha during his official staying in France, month of February, this year. In the joint
meeting, Minister Berisha and France Ambassador confirmed willing of both parties for extension and deepening
of cooperation
between MKSF
and Ministry of

Cadets of the basic course on mountain search and rescue have been
certified
Course design was to inform cadets about mountain climbing, rope, mountain navigation and victim evacuation. During this
three-week course attendees learned on various manners for rope using types of making hitches as well rope anchoring.
Also, they learned about importance of maintenance care of equipment. This is especially mentioned during scenarios
where students were required for themselves and victims.
The first aid and care to the victims due to the cold weather and injuries. During training cadets have practiced many
scenarios with various techniques including immediate training and medic evacuation of victims.
The students’ performance in practical and theoretical part is assessed during the training. Training reaches peak of
development with a range of practical tests on written. A major numbers of the students were conducting this exercise for
the first time even at an extreme height. Trustiness and understanding on their equipment were quite important factors.
Director of Training Center during his speech said: "Overcoming personally fear and power of character plays an important
role in provided courses. Our instructors are excellent and able to make assessment of the students developing with various
speed. This was a good course and satisfied with results. Part of success to this training are qualified candidates to be a part
of mountain search and rescue events. After some time of gaining of great experience they will be invited to be a part of
the second level course”.
Training Certification on ,,Tactics with Small Units” Tuesday, 10th April 2018.At barrack ,, NATO soldiers ''of the Rapid reaction Brigade in Istog, yesterday is held certification
ceremony of the 28 KSF members after completion of the training ,,Tactics with Small Units” - 01-2018', first generation
for the 2018.
Training, ,,Tactics with Small Units” has started on 12th of March 2018 up to 6th April 2018. This is the first generation for
the year 2018 and the 14th on line. These are projected and implemented by instructors of the Rapid Reaction Brigade.
Certificate and gratitude were awarded to the successfully candidates.

The field exercise ,,Skënderbeu-2018’’ is being conducted at
Doctrine and Training Command
Friday, 13th April 2018.At the KSF
Doctrine and Training Command in
Ferizaj is conducting field exercise
“Skënderbeu-2018”. In this exercise
have participated 433 members from
all the KSF Units.
Part of this exercise were members
who have completed various courses
at the TRADOC as a part of planning,
surveillance, control and assessment
of the FTX.
The courses conducted in the three
first semester are: Commanding Staff
Procedure (CSP); Advanced leader
Course (ALC);Warrior Leader Course
(WLC); Basic NCO Course (BNCOC);
Logistic Course(LC); Engineering
Course (EC); First Responder Course:
Maintenance-Transport Course (MT);
Communication Course (CC). The course series ended up with field exercise projected by the TRADOC with a coded name
,,Skënderbeu 2018” .
In training and doctrine Command was held the certification
ceremony for the semestral exercise of the first generation 2018
Friday, 13th April 2018. At barrack ,,Skënderbeu”of Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) of the Kosovo Security
Force in Ferizaj is conducted the semestral exercise ceremony of the first generation 2018.
Attended; Dep/Minister of the Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Burim Ramadani, Commander of Land Force Command (LFC) BG.
Enver Cikaqi, Commander of Training and Doctrine, BG. Irfete Spahiu, Commander of Rapid Reaction Brigade (RRB) , BG.
Fadil Hadergjonaj, Commander of Operation Support Brigade (OSB) , BG. Naim Haziri, Commander of Turkish Contingent,
Dep/Commander of Bondsteell as well the KSF Commanders of Unit, Officers and NCO of the KSF and Advisory Liaison Team
of NATO to MKSF/KSF (NALT).
There are conducted courses during these period: Commanding Staff Procedure, Advanced Leader Course, Warrior Leader
Course, Basic NCO Course ,Logistic Course , First Responder Course, Communication Course and at the end , Maintenance
and Transport Course. All these courses were an integrated part of the FTX ,,Skënderbeu 2018”. Without no doubt, we
highly appreciate the work of instructors and attendees at all stages ’’.
Certification and gratitude are awarded, at the end, to the distinguished attendees and instructors who successfully
completed the training and final exercise at TRADOC.

“Civil - Military Operations” training was completed which was conducted by
U.S Instructors
Friday, 13th April 2018. At Land Force Command barrack ,,Adem Jashari “ is conducted the completion ceremony of training
,,Civil – Military Operation” provided by Instructors of Civil-Military Support Office at the U.S.
Attended: Commander of Land Force Command (LFC) BG. Enver Cikaqi, Commander of OSB , BG. Naim Haziri, Commander
of Crisis Response Liaison Unit ( CRLU) LTC. Milaim Musliu, Head Office of Civil-Military Support Office ,a t U.S Embassy,
Capt. Justin Bauer.
Commander of Land Force Command, General Cikaqi on his word said : It`s my pleasure to be here today with you, seeing
the importance of this training having within mandate of the KSF current mission and future. Thus, we paid a special
attention to this area, I thank the U.S Embassy for the constantly support and instructors to make happening successfully
this training.
The Head of the Civilian-Military Support Office at the US Embassy, Captain Bauer during his speech on the occasion said:
"For two weeks we have conducted the training “Civil – Military Operations "in which we tried to give instructions for civil-
military affairs and the skills that a key leader must possess in such operations. This training was conducted in theory and
practice by visiting central and local institutions in order to acquire skills to be able to assess civilian military aspects and
you will be an example of your institution and government with your work ' '.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to instructors and trainers from the US Embassy. On this occasion,
General Cikaqi also shared gratitude for their continued work and support for the KSF.

The meeting among senior level of MKSF and Advisory Liaison team of
NATO was held
At Ministry for the Kosovo security Force (MKSF) under leading of the KSF Commander, LTG. Rrahman Rama,
today, is held the second official meeting between leadership of the KSF and the NATO Advisory Liaison Team
for Ministry and the KSF.
The KSF Commander, LTG. Rrahman Rama primarily mentioned importance of this meeting among the KSF
leaders and NALT as an organization and mechanism who closely work together as well by a constantly
coordination for the good of the KSF development, as well importance of this cooperation with NALT and
intensification of the cooperation with KFOR.
The NALT Director, General Hoffmann, on his word was interested to know about the current position of the KSF
, activities and plans for the future.
Whereas, Dep/Commander of KFOR, General Csombock is focused in international successful interoperability
among the KFOR and the KSF especially in joint field exercise.
This is the second meeting among the leaders of the KSF and NALT with intention provision of information,
coordination and harmonization of the joint activities.

The cyber security workshop was held, conducted by IOWA`s Officers –U.S
In the KSF barracks "Adem Jashari", from 16-20.04.2018, was held the sixth cyber security workshop, conducted by the
officers of the Iowa National Guard of the United States of America. The workshop was attended by 17 officers and non-
commissioned officers from the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force (MKSF) and the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).
Attended: Land Force Commander, BG. Enver Cikaqi, LTC. Lawrence Yazzie, Major William McElvain from IOWA`s National
Guard and chief Department of G6 of the LFC, LTC. Gyrner Murati, which at opening of this activity briefly explained events
conducted throughout cyber defense protection.
The LFC Commander, BG. Enver Cikaqi, on behalf of the KSF Commander, LTG. Rrahman Rama, thanked the attendees and
especially Officers an d NCOs from IOWA`s for cooperation and assistance giving on upgrading and professionalization of
the KSF members as well unsaved support to IOWA`s National Guard and personally thanked General Timothy Orr, saying:
“We are grateful for their work done, for provision of your experience to our members by exchanging knowledge in the
cyber protection.
LTC. Yazzie promised to further continue implementation of specific projects dealt with this field, “we will go on with
realization of such a visits and workshops as joint planning for upgrading of the capabilities and their more efficient use of
them”.

Senior Course Officers of Republic of Albania
visited the KSF
At Ministry for Kosovo Security Force and Land Force Command , today , stayed for a working visit , based upon
curriculum and plan of activities for “Senior Course Officer“ (SCO) the course attendees of the Defense Academy
of Republic of Albania.
Delegation primarily visited Land Force Command (LFC) where they were received by its Commander, BG. Enver
Cikaqi, who welcomed them and informed on overall achievements of the Land Force Command.
Whereas, at Ministry for Kosovo Security Force (MKSF) they were hosted by MKSF Senior Officers , Department
for Transformation, Standardization and Modernization.
Members of Course of Command and General Staff of Republic of Albania visited
the KSF
Commander of Land Force Command (LFC) of the Kosovo Security Force (LFC) , BG.Enver Cikaqi hosted in a meeting staff of
Department of Security and History of Armed Force Academy (AF) , attendees of Course of Command and General Staff of
Republic of Albania (RA).
Whereas, Commander of Courses at Defense Academy of Republic of Albania, LTC. Halit Kuçana, has thanked General Cikaqi
for the fraternal reception, further mentioning: ,,Officers from Kosovo , since from the first days are accommodated well at
Academy`s environment, and I want to say that we have learned a lot form experiences of them , we had a destiny to know
your pace form KLA, KPC and now , the KSF hoping to be soon become Armed Forces and we shall be ready to grow this
cooperation in exchanging of experiences’’.

THE KSF TOOK PART IN “EARTH DAY” ACTION
The Kosovo Security Force (KSF), with personnel and equipment, on the occasion of marking "Earth Day" supported the
voluntary action "To Clean up Kosovo", an action organized by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of Kosovo.
To support the action was the Deputy Commander of the Land Forces Command (LFC), Brigadier General Xhevahir Geci, as
well as members of the KSF, together with civil society organizations and civil servants, members of the Kosovo Police,
representatives of the Advisory Team and NATO Liaison for MKSF / KSF (NALT), students and citizens were engaged
throughout the day in cleaning and planting of ornamental trees and flowers in the Municipality of Kastriot.
In this activity, based on the action plan of the Department for Civic-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) and in coordination of
activities with the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, heads of Municipal Assemblies and governmental and non-
governmental organizations, pupils, students and citizens of good will, on April 22-23, 2018, have carried out the action
throughout Kosovo named "Let's Clean Up Kosovo".
The KSF has supported the activity in the cities: Suharekë, Rahovec, Hoqe e Madhe, in the village of Plemetin / Kastriot
municipality.
Turkish Armed Forces Orchestra held a concert at,,Adem Jashari’’ barrack
At barrack ,,Adem Jashari’’ in Pristina is held the second concert of the Orchester ,,Stars of Turkish Harmony ” of the
Turkey Armed Forces organized by headship of Turkish Council in Kosovo.
At the beginning is presented the program of the Orchestra ,,Stars of Turkish Harmony” who revealed an artistic-cultural
program with a selected music by its repertoire where among of those songs were Albanian songs such as ,,Oj Kosovë oj
nëna ime “ ,,Kënga e Poçarit” and a lot of other beautiful Albanian songs which created atmosphere at amphitheater hall.
At the end of program , Commander of the LFC , BG. Enver Cikaqi thanked the Turkish Army for cooperation as well of both
orchestras , the KSF and Turkish one.
From Turkish Orchestra for Commander of Land Force Command, BG.Enver Cikaqi is given a symbolic gift for cooperation
and possibility to have a concert.
In the musical activity of Turkish Military Orchestra took part soldiers, NCOs and officers of the KSF who for one hour were
entertained with music sounds of Turkish artists and militaries.

IN THE KSF MINISTRY IS HELD THE EIGHT CONFERENCE
,,KSF AND PARTNERS’’ In the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force, today, has started the two- days "KSF and Partners" conference in which are
attending ambassadors and military attaches of partner countries.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj expressed gratitude to international friends: "We owe you
to be a partner with you because you helped us in critical times to be here where we are today. The Prime Minister Ramush
Haradinajs said so, at the opening of the 8th Conference, organized by the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force, with the
topic "KSF and Partners".
The Prime Minister on this occasion said; "The Kosovo Security Force reflects the truth of Kosovo and this is true for us,
every citizen of this country, to feel at home, whether Albanian, Serb, Turkish, Roma, Ashkali, Egyptian, Bosnian ''.
"Today, we are, at an institution that is home for everybody. Our aspiration is to join the North Atlantic Alliance family and
contribute to peace, "Prime Minister Haradinaj said, stressing that the transition of the Security Force and its constitutional
mandate will not change the foundation of our state and the vision and mission of our society.
On his side Minister of KSF, Rrustem Berisha on his opening remark, of the Conference proceeding primarily thanked all
partners for all the KSF partners, constantly contribution and support towards achieving of objective for the Ministry for
Kosovo Security Force.Minister in order to support the needs of the KSF and coordinating joint efforts on the journey of the
Republic of Kosovo towards Euro-Atlantic integrations.
Commander of Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama said: "Without your support, Kosovo Security
Force would not be here where it is today. In our organization we cultivate three principles, that of leadership, relationship,
and friendship. "
During the first session of the conference spoke KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore Cuoci, Director of NALT,
Brigadier General Ralf Hoffmann, Ambassador of the United States of America, UK, Germany, Turkey and Croatia.
The conference was attended by Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia,
Montenegro, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA, representatives from the Presidency, NATO Liaison Advisory Team, KFOR,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kosovo Police and Agency for Emergency Management.

Minister Rrustem Berisha hosted the Attaché of Belgium,Yves Cuvelier
Monday, 30th April 2018. Minister for the Kosovo Security Force ministry (MKSF) Rrustem Berisha received today at the
official meeting the Belgian Defense Attaché, Colonel Yves Cuvelier, in MKSF.
Minister Berisha and Defense Attaché Cubelier from Belgium discussed about the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the
field of security between MKSF / KSF and Belgian counterpart authorities and its enlargement in other areas of interest to
the two countries.
Minister Berisha informed Attaché ,Yves Cuvelier with the overall developments of the KSF, the successes during trainings
and various operations inside and outside the country, including the integration of community members into the KSF. He
also mentioned international co-operation with NATO, KFOR, NALT, the Iowa National Guard and thanked the state of
Belgium for continued support in the journey of our country.
"Soldier of 2018" of the KSF competition and international competition was
announced
Friday, 27 April 2018. At the "Adem Jashari" barracks of the Land Forces Command of the Kosovo Security
Force, today solemnly, were announced the results of the International Competition and the Races of the KSF "The
Best Soldier of 2018" .Attended Rrustem Berisha, Dep/Minsiter, Agim Çeku, The KSF Commander , LTG.
Rrahman Rama, the KSF senior officers, KFOR and Officers, Attaches , partner countries of the KSF.
The best results of the KSF race and the first prize "Soldier of 2018" was won by Lorik Ramaj, a member of the
Rapid Reaction Brigade, while the best results and the first prize of the international competition won, OR - 6
Vladimir Haxhiaj, members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.
In this case,the KSF Comamnder , LTG. Rrahman Rama said taht this race already has bevome an international
one and purpose of it , is promotion of the racing spirit of militaries a dn growth motivation of them as well

At the end are announced both races scores thus "The best soldier of 2018", at a KSF level is won by the corporal
Lorik Ramaj,the second place by corporal Berat Babaj,both of them members of Rapid Reaction Brigade a, and
teh third place is taken by private, Egzon Jashari, member of the Operational Support Brigade.
Whereas , winners of the international race "Best soldier of 2018" got : the first place was taken by military from
Albania , OR-6 Vladimir Haxhijaj,the second place belong to Corporal Joery Hinssen, and the third place is taken
by private Aaron Braun from Canada Armed Forces.
The best soldier race hold at the KSF level since 2014, is conducted from 23rd April up to 27 th April 2018, where
soldiers and NCOs from all the KSF Units and partner countries participated together and showed commitment
and professionalism while executing all projected duties.
22 competitors from ten KSF were taking part in that race for the best soldier as well 17 international competitors
from: Albania, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, United Kingdom and U.S.

JOINT EXERCISE "SILVER SABRE 18"COMPLETED TRAINING
OPERATIONS
Friday, 27th April 2018. The Kosovo Security Force (KSF), KFOR and Emergency Management Agency ,Kosovo Police , today,
after demonstrating final activities successfully completed the FTX "Silver Sabre 18", at Regiment of Civil Protection (CPR)
of Operational Support Brigade of the KSF " Young Europeans" in Pomozotin.
Attended at Visitor Day; Minister of KSF, Rrustem Berisha, the KSF Commander, LTG. Rrahman Rama, KFOR Commander,
Major General, Salvatore Cuoci, UK Ambassador of United Kingdom, Director of National Securitz Council ,Emergency
Management Agency as well senior generals and Officers of the KSF , KFOR-it, EULEX and Kosovo Police.
"The other purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate Kosovo security organizations, at large-scale are steadily improving
their capabilities and making efforts to improve tactics, techniques and common procedures for effective work together
and in fulfilling their respective roles ".
All attendees had the opportunity to closely monitor the operations executed successfully by the security and emergency
institutions and agencies in Kosovo.
Joint Field Exercise "Silver Sword 2018 is an exercise based on the National Reaction Plan, which tests the first, second and
third response interventional capabilities.
The "Silver Sword 2018" exercise is a good indicator of the cooperation of the KSF with other institutions and agencies in
Kosovo.

KSF members in the international semi-marathon in athletics
Monday, 30 April 2018.On Sunday, in Pristina dated 29.04.2018 is held International Half-Marathon with participation of
athletes from our country and many other countries of the world.
60 members of the Kosovo Security Force also participated to this race where 44 out of them ran in path of 21 km, whereas
16 others with military uniform ran for 5 km.All the KSF members have passed successfully the path , in which case are
equipped with certificate and medals from the organizer.
Also, during the half-marathon, a KSF team of medics was present there, at all times in order to be ready to provide
assistance to the athletes in need.
GENERAL RAMA VISITED THE KSF TEAMS ENGAGED IN SAR OPERATION IN
LEPENC RIVER
Monday, 30 the April 2018. Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), LTG. Rrahman Rama visited at the scene place
the KSF members of SAR Unit in water and mountain who are conducting an operation for searching for two members of
Kosovo Police after having accident ), throughout flow of the Lepenc river in the Kaçanik-Hani i Elezit way.
On this occasion, General Rama has supported and encouraged our specialists, who with self-sacrifice and professionalism
are performing the task, in exceptional circumstances, together with other teams involved in the operation by various
institutions and agencies specialized in the field search in water.
With the decision of Minister Rrustem Berisha and with the order of the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lt.
Gen. Rrahman Rama, Water and Mountain Search and Rescue Unit, continues to be engaged, for the third day in a row (two
Kosovo Police officers) in the Lepenc River in the highway Pristina - Skopje (Kaçanik - Hani i Elezit), exactly in the territory of
the municipality of Hani i Elezit.
So far, divers of the KSF have checked throughout five kilometers of river flow as well in the entire slope of the mountain –
accident place in its entire surface. The search is going on together with others Institutional actors of the country.
The Kosovo Security Force respectively SAR Unit of Civil protection Regiment is engaged in operation at scene incident on
29th April 2018, at about 01:00, with 11 members equipped with special equipment and two vehicles. The first operation
is stopped overnight by Incident Command staring tomorrow from 09:00 hrs.
On resuming the operation, yesterday, the KSF has engaged 14 members, whereas today on the third day, 16 members of
the Kosovo Security Force are engaged.
The Kosovo Security Force is committed to continuing its engagement in the search operation with its professional
capabilities and that our members are showing professionalism and selflessness in the performance of their duties.
