Kids for Kids Choir Performance

Last week, all the choir's hard work of learning all the words for fifteen songs and practising their parts culminated in a fun, action-packed performance at Forum North. They were part of a combined choir with seven other schools, singing with Jackie Clarke and Nathan King, who led the concert. Three of our choristers were soloists, with Abbie Franklin and Manaia Mackie singing and Aylssa Moore-Boyle rapping. They all did a great job in front of a very receptive audience. It was a great night, and the children did themselves proud. Well done, everyone!

Shelley Muston.

Congratulations to Hype for their successes. All that practice and effort paid off.

Huge thanks to Jan Olney for coaching the team and organising our participation in

this event.

Congratulations also to our choir children for their outstanding performance in the

Kids For Kids Choir. Our Soloists Manaia Mackie, Alyssa Moore-Boyle and Abbie

Franklin performed beautifully. Well done to you all. Thanks go to Shelley Muston

for coaching our singers and organising our participation in that event.

Rob Posthumus. Principal

The 9 and 10-year-olds will race after interval, starting at 10.50 hopefully. Also, children 8 years and up are racing in the age group that is their age at January 1st this year.( Not necessarily the age they are now)

S.O.S - We desperately need 4-5 helpers for Cross Country morning. If you are able to help, please email [email protected] or leave

details at the office. Thanks.

Please note that there will be tea, coffee & baking available in the hall for

a gold coin donation. Thank you to our wonderful Support Group for organising the yummy baking.

EXTRACT from a reading “Teach from the Heart”

There are many lessons in Cross Country that some people nowadays are unable to see.

Cross Country teaches kids to :

• push hard through feeling uncomfortable - wind, mud, feeling puffed, sweating…

• to work hard ( train )

• to develop resilience

• support their classmates

• be happy for others when they win

• be satisfied with your own effort

• experience the feeling when you cross the finish line knowing you’ve done it.
