Uniform News

Year 6 Shirts Notes have gone out this week for Year 6 to order their special Year 6 shirts. Please return your order by the end of term.

The Year 6 shirt is black with red trim.

It will have the school logo on the front left and on the back will be ‘Class of 2020’ and the Year 6 students’ names listed. School Jacket New School Jacket coming soon! The new Holmwood Public School jacket will have the school logo on the front left side.

The jacket will cost approximately $60 and will be available for all students K-6 More information soon!

Welcome! Welcome to the Week 9 Newsletter!

Red Folders School reports will be sent home this coming Monday June 29th. Could all families please return their red School Report Folders ASAP so that reports can be added and then returned to families. School Photos Thank you to Kay and Cliff Dykes from Creative School Portraits for coming in on Wednesday morning and expertly taking our school photographs for us.

All students now have their ‘shoot key/access code’. Please see the attached information on how to access your photos.

Would you like to order a whole school photo? Whole School photos can be ordered through the office. Please fill in the order form attached to last week’s email, enclose this with $20 in an envelope and send to the office to place your order.

Enrolling now for 2021 The school is now taking enrolments for 2021. If you or someone you know is intending to enrol their child in Kindergarten in the coming year, please visit or phone the school office and we will provide you with an enrolment form. As soon as enrolments are taken, then we are able to begin the huge task of organising for a new school year.

Kindy Orientation Kindy Orientation will be held on Wednesday mornings during Term 4 on the following dates:

October November December 28th 4th 11th 18th 25th 2nd

Kindy Orientation Sessions will run from 9:30-11:30am. Students will participate in a range of fun activities such as shared reading, visual arts, sport, maths and writing. These days provide an opportunity for your child to become accustomed to the routines and activities at school and help them to feel more at home here at Holmwood when they start their school journey in the new year.

K-2 Maths Maths games are a great way to learn about two dimensional shapes!

Sizes 6 – 16 are available from the school office. Shirts can be purchased for a cost of $20.

These new white shirts are now part of the formal school uniform and can be worn to school on any days that are not sports days.

English/Creative Arts Students in K-2 have been exploring books by Anthony Browne. One book they have been studying is ‘Silly Billy’. Silly Billy is a book about a boy who worries about a lot of things. The students in K-2 worked with Mrs Nottingham to make some worry dolls as part of this book study.

Clinical Services Plan for Cowra Hospital Redevelopment

Prior to the State Election, the NSW Government committed to invest $70.2 million to upgrade Cowra Hospital.

Western NSW Local Health District would like to hear from Cowra community members and those in the surrounding villages to better understand local health needs now and into the future, and how you see health services being delivered in your area. All information collected as part of the consultation will inform the Cowra Clinical Services Plan.

The process for building a new hospital starts with good planning. Developing a Clinical Services Plan that is specific to the community’s health needs is essential to the planning process, and an important first step. The Plan identifies health priorities, challenges and examines how these can be responded to in terms of services and infrastructure.
