Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253. Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation.

Upcoming SMP Meetings, Trips and Special Events 02/02 – Mountain Bike - This property offers over 20 miles of multipurpose trails for hiking, mountain biking, & equestrian use. $5.00 per person includes transportation, gear, snacks & hydration. Departure from Semper Fit Bldg. 1253 at 0800. Registration opens Jan 11th & ends Jan 31st. Limited to 24 spots. 02/07 – MCAS Camp Pendleton & MAG-39 Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1330 at Hall of Heroes Bldg. 2368 02/08 – Camp Pendleton Installation SMP Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1330 at 62 Area SMP Rec Center Bldg. 62527 02/09 – MASH Hike - Come see the old set (and props) from the M*A*S*H* TV series! This trip is only $5.00 per person, pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Jan 11th & ends Feb 7th. Limited to 25 spots. 02/10 – Supercross San Diego - $20.00 per person includes transportation & entry into Supercross. Departure from Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 at 1500. Registration opens Jan 11th & ends Feb 7th. Limited to 20 spots. 02/16 – 02/19 San Francisco - Only $160.00 per person includes transportation & 3 night stay in downtown San Francisco. Departure from Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration begins opens Jan 17th & ends Feb 9th. Limited to 30 spots. 03/02 Escondido Falls (Malibu) - Upper Escondido Falls is a true treasure. The water pours over a wall of lush green moss and falls some 150 feet before landing in a calm pool set in beautiful Malibu. This trip is only $5.00 per person, pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Feb 9th & ends Feb 28th. Limited to 25 spots. 03/16 Hollywood Sign - Registration is $5 per person and includes transportation and a day of exploring the Griffith Park area in Hollywood. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Feb 16th & ends March 13th. Limited to 25 spots.

SMP Volunteer Opportunities 02/08 Lake O’Neill Beautification Project 08 0800 Lake O’Neill Volunteers may wear civilian attire, long pants and closed toed shoes. Outdoor clean-up, tree trimming and more. An LOA and lunch will be provided. Please turn in Command Authorization Forms into Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253. Meet on-site at Lake O’Neill. Retirement Home Visits Have dinner with the residents. Bravos are the requested uniform for these events. Max of 6-10 volunteers needed for each opportunity. Each event begins at 1600. 02/13 - Rancho Vista Retirement Home 02/14 - Pacific Place Retirement Home 02/28 - Fairwinds Retirement Home 02/14 & 02/28 - 1000 Base Stables Volunteer Day Camp Pendleton Stables, Bldg. 1516. Participants will help clean & groom horses, clean stalls, & help with general maintenance at the stables. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water!

02/23 – 0630 PE Fitness Challenge Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at an on-base school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters at 0630. Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath. Lunch will be provided. 40 volunteers needed.
