All of our students performed very well and Jacinta Cooper and Hope Taylor are representing Duri School at the State Athletics Carnival on 17th and 18th October. RELIEVING PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Regional Athletics Carnival Leisl Cooper, Emma Ison, Isaiah Morgan-Blair, Jacinta Cooper, Hope Taylor, Claire Brown represented Duri School at the Regional Athletics Carnival last Friday. Canteen at Regional Athletics Carnival Congratulations to the staff, parents and friends who helped out at the Canteen on Friday. It was a massive job and they all did an amazing job with only a week’s notice. Many thanks to the following people who gave up their time to help:- Ken Frazer, Bob Taylor, Jim Pearson, Natasha Moss, Sally Moss, Libby Urquhart, Anthea Cooper, Nikki Ison, Carolyn Hearn, Charmaine Kesby, Julie Thompson, Katie Rimmer, Brenda Keech and Wendy Pearson. Well done everyone, and after all expenses have been taken out, it would appear that we have made a profit of about $4,200 with half of that going to the P & C. Blackville Spelling Bee Two of our students are representing Duri School at the Blackville Small Schools’ Spelling Bee today, Wednesday, 5th September. The students are:- Eden Walters - Year 4; Jacinta Cooper - Year 6 Unfortunately Emma Ison is not well today and was not able to participate. Get well soon, Emma! Thank you to Narelle Walters for providing transport. Dave Archer Workshops Thank you to David Archer and Kate Armstrong for organising the two-day art workshop. The students had a wonderful time and made some amazing pieces of artwork. See the pho-tos on our photo page and the article in today’s Leader. Thank you to all the parents and students for supplying the recycled materials. Writer’s Festival - Come Spin a Yarn Tomorrow, Thursday, 6th September ten students in Years 4/5/6 will be attending “Come Spin A Yarn” at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre. Please return your permission note tomorrow, if you have not already done so. Thank you to Julie Thompson and Rebecca Trotter for providing transport to this event. P & C Meeting - CHANGE OF DATE The next meeting of the P & C will be next Tuesday, 12th September commencing at 7.00 pm. Please note the change of date. All are welcome to attend. Thank you to Anthea Cooper for organising the P & C Father’s Day Stall last Thursday. PSSA State Golf Tournament I will be away next week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the State Golf Tournament in Foster as the North West Manager. Mrs Burley will be taking the class on Wednesday and Mrs Mutton will be taking the class on Thursday and Friday. Library Books Yesterday was the last day for borrowing and all library books must be returned to school by the end of term. Thank you - Mrs Hutton Thank you to Mrs Hutton who has been filling in for Mrs Mutton on a Tuesday while she has been overseas. We have enjoyed having Mrs Hutton at our school and hope she can come back again soon. Mrs Mutton returns to school on Monday with some wonderful stories about her trip.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: Claire Brown - Wednesday, 5th August

Isabell Leaving Hospital on Friday Isabell Kesby who has been in hospital for the last six weeks will be going home on Friday and returning to school next term. We wish Isabell a good further recovery and look forward to seeing her back at school next term. New Computers in the T4L Program Duri School will be getting seven new computers shortly in the T4L rollout, which is good news as quite a few of our computers are on the way out and not at all reliable. We should be able to replace all the older computers in the school.
