O Allah, you blessed us with rain even though the sinner did not come forward.”

Allah said:

“O Musa, it is for the repentance of that very person that I blessed all of children of Israel with water.”

Musa wanted to know who the sinner was, so he asked Allah:

‘’Show him to me O Allah!”

But Allah replied:

“O Musa, I hid his sins for forty years, do you think that after his repentance I shall expose him?”

It is never too late for anyone to repent to Allah.

Ramadan is an excellent opportunity.

The Holy month of Ramadan will soon be upon us and is an opportunity for all of us to strengthen our Im’aan. The following story illustrates the mercy of Allah, and that there is always a chance to start afresh.

In the days when Musa was with the children of Israel, a drought came upon them and together they prayed for rain to come. However, the few clouds that had been in the sky vanished and the drought intensified.

Allah revealed to Musa that there was a sinner amongst the tribe for more than forty years of his life :

“Let him separate himself from the congregation. Only then shall I shower you all with rain.”

Musa then addressed the crowd and said:

“There is a person amongst us who has disobeyed Allah for forty years. Let him separate himself from the congregation and only then shall we be rescued from the drought.”

The guilty man waited, hoping someone else would step forward. The sweat poured from his eyebrows. He knew he was the one.

He knew that if he stayed among them, everyone would die of thirst but if he stepped forward he would be humiliated for the rest of his life.

He asked Allah with a sincerity he had never felt before:

“O Allah, have mercy on me! O Allah, hide my sins! O Allah, forgive me!”

It started to rain.

Musa asked Allah:

And Ramadan is once again upon us

The Tajweed class on Mondays is a six weeks course run by Abdullateef Osman, especially for the Juzz’Amma graduates and aims to enrich their knowledge of the Tajweed rules.

The course is based upon the Tajweed book ‘The Guidance of the Merciful for

Reciting the Qur’an’ by Sheikh Abdul-Wahhab Dibis wa Zait. It has been translated by Abdullatif Osman and is consequently being used to teach the indepth detailed Tajweed rules.

Indeed, The Qur’an says:‘And Recite the Qur’an in a Measured Flow’ (73:4)

The course is designed especially for graduates although the course is welcome to all.

Time: 7pm—9pm

Day: Monday Evenings

Venue: Sutton Civic Offices

Run by Abdullateef Osman

The youth's Saturday circle have been asked to research the principles of socialising in Islam and present back how, when and why it is appropriate.

Candidates will be marked on their presentation style, factual content and stance by a panel of judges.

All candidates will be able to go over their work in

the class but must practice in their own time too!

This obligatory Islamic etiquette is key in protecting modesty in the society. We all need to

understand this concept so it becomes a habit, and be able to give dawah when needed.

The competition will be held after Ramadan so candidates have more time to polish their presentations.

The winner receives £100. There are also runner-up prizes worth over £200!

Surah 24 An-Nur, Verse 30

‘Say to the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their modesty. That is purer

for them, and Allah is aware of what they do’
