President Report -
Response to the Artists of The North Exhibition has been excellent with what looks like a record number
of entries We need helpers to circulate with both raffle tickets and the evening canapeacutes I want to avoid
the situation where people congregate around the table and wait for the food to arrive Warren Entsch is
opening the exhibition for us which is great news Lets all make it a great event Cheers Lowen

An exhibition of paintings and drawings from life studies at JCU Life Drawing Open Workshop Drawing is a
very satisfying and instant means to be creative at anytime
With minimal materials one can create at anytime and anywhere Drawing can be the beginnings of other crea-
tions like painting 3-D work printmaking in its various forms creations in themselves as well as just ldquodrawing

This exhibition presents the works of artists who enjoy drawing - those who like to develop their skills in under-
standing the human form in order to learn how to see and not just look at what is presented Life drawing
(drawing direct from the human figure) is also the most valuable method of keeping their art practice up to date
and doing so with like minded people in the workshop means they learn from each other as well

elsewhere The participants on show are Gen Anderson Tasha Riglar-Anderson Barb Baskerville Cindy Crich-
