Where in the world has Sarah been?As many of you know Ms Sarah Moran has been on a month-long visit to the USA. First stop was interactive conference SXSW in Austin, Texas. For the past few weeks, however, she’s been working with Inspire USA to launch their campaign State Side. Check out some of her and the Inspire team’s work online at their official website and videos on YouTube.

• Young Social Pioneers are looking for people with purpose and passion for a social cause to apply for their 2010 Fellowships. If you’re aged between 18 & 29 you could gain a place on this exceptional 12 month program including skills development, mentoring, group and individual training plus access to a global network of like minded people. Incubator updates

• As well as working on pieces for National Youth Week, Visual Monkies will be collaborating with the Brisbane Orchestra Deep Blue to provide animations for their performance. They’ve also teamed up with Fade In Productions to produce a skit for ABC’s Hungry Beast!

• Lee from CreativeWire Workshops will be working his way around Far North Queensland over the next month bringing his music workshops to more than 1000 school kids!

• Press Record have been working with new contributors including young writers, photographers and editors with the results paying off. Press Record had more than 5000 hits on their website earlier this month. During April they’ll be hosting ‘The Lost Youth’. This month long event celebrates young artists under 21. A showcase night will be held on April 10th at The Hive (Fortitude Valley PCYC) from 6:30pm. For more info email [email protected]

• Tiara the Merch Girl is looking for girls for a music/performance project. Tiara says the project is “The Runaways doing burlesque with Haus of Gaga.” If you’re interested or know of anyone who might be email Tiara at: [email protected]

• YFocus are looking for 6 young people aged between 18 and 19 to take part in a new advocacy program which will run over 10 weeks (one night a week for approximately 2 hours) at Visible Ink in Fortitude Valley. If you know a young person who might be interested in participating contact YFocus on [email protected].

On Wednesday April 14, 2010 Talking Shop will be held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts. Talking Shop is a mingling of artists

of all sorts for industry conversations and networking and serves an invaluable opportunity to meet, discuss, applaud, share and plot the

growth of the arts. Best of all this is a FREE EVENT.

The focus for Talking Shop #5 is Promoting Your Music Wednesday 14 April 5.30pm – 7pm 5.30pm bar open and

nibbles 6pm Guest speakers, Denis Semchenko (Rave Magazine) + Stacey Coleman (4ZzZ fm) will identify ways to tap into the free or cheap

components of local, national and international media.

Next Tuesday Left Right Think Tank will hold their official launch in the Premiers’ Hall at Parliament House from 12:30pm.

The Left Right crew will also hold a forum ‘Our State. Our City. Our Future’ next Friday at 1:30pm in the Speakers’ Room at

Parliament House. The forum will provide an opportunity for young people to discuss their ideas for Brisbane and Queensland

with politicians and policy makers.
