Dear friends,

We are coming to the end of yet another successful Rotaractarian year.

The month of May was centered around our district conference in which we

had the chance to spend time together and get to know how each and every

one of our clubs function. We also had the opportunity to meet the new and

upcoming district committee, and our ERIC, who will surely be successful

in realizing our future projects.

This year, all of the clubs in the district have shown a great amount of

humanity, generosity and friendship, showing support to one of our most

important projects up until now, the project entitled " SVI ZA LANETA ".

I truly believe that we will only cherish positive thoughts in the future, as

well as team spirit and a great deal of will so that we could be here for one

another, as always.

Goal: pleasant visit to children and their teachers in

school Strelac

On party „For a children

smile“ that Rotaract club

Pirot had organized, thanks

to the people with good

will , we succedded in

raising found for children

with special need in school

from village Strelac. We

bought to the children a lot

of presents that they like,

and some special for

gradutes for eight grade .

This time children make

suprise and gave us present

that they made themselves,

figurines from stone, and

invite us to stay on their

special prom celebration. On

our leave they make a wish,

to come back and visit them

again.

was very plesant evening with

friends.

Humanitarian Fashion Show Part 2

Care “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj”

Goal: Aid for Home for Children without Parental Care

After a very successful fashion

show held in February this year, the

funds collected at that occasion as

intended were directed for buying

bedclothes. As organisers of the

mentioned event, members of Rota-

ract Clubs Beograd Balkan and Be-

ograd Čukarica went to the Home

for Children without Parental Care

“Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” and hand-

ed over the bedclothes. And what

was most important is the fact that

we managed to light up the faces of

children and make it a special day

for both them and us.

Bang, bang, you're dead!

Date: 08.05.2013. Youth Theatre “Dadov”, Belgrade

Goal: Fight against bullying.

Students from several elementary schools and children from the Shelter and

orphanages had the opportunity to see the play "Bang, bang, you're dead" in

the youth theater "Dadov", performed by Drama section from elementary

school Abraham Mrazović from Sombor. This performance was organized

by Rotaract Club Beograd, Rotaract Club of Belgrade Sava and Rotary club

Sombor. After educational play, whose theme was the fight against bullying,

each child was given a sandwich and on

this occasion they exchanged positive im-

pressions of the show.

International Day of Families

Date: 15.05.2013.

Shelter for children, Belgrade

Goal: Providing umbrellas for the Shelter.

Having in mind the good cooperation with Shelter, we’ve been asked to

provide the umbrellas for the program on the occasion of the Interna-

tional Day for Families, so we decided to donate it to the Shelter. Rota-

ract club Beograd in cooperation with the Rotaract Club Beograd

Dedinje brought sweet-pack and a large bag of candy for the kids, to

sweeten the end of the day. Shelter Management was very grateful,

since we almost always find a way to help them.

Shelter for adults and the

elderly, Voždovac

Goal: Donations of new clothes to the people from Shelter

for adults and elderly people.

After the closure of a company

dealing with textile and sewing, a

member of the Rotaract club Beo-

grad, Mina Vasović collected a

large amount of brand new, unused

items. Rotaract Club Beograd do-

nated a huge number of raincoats

and brand new shoes to the Shelter

for adults and elderly people.

“ČIGRA” for kids Date: 22.05.2013.

Institute for Radiology and

Oncology in Belgrade

Goal: Brighten a day of children with cancer.

Members of the Rotaract club Beo-

grad decided to make a little differ-

ent and interesting afternoon for

children from Institute for Radiol-

ogy and Oncology in Belgrade,

who suffered from cancer. Time

passed quickly in socializing, sto-

rytelling and creativity. Three girls

from the agency for animation and

children's entertainment "ČIGRA"

made this day really special for

these kids. It is a great pleasure to

hang out with the kids at the Insti-

tute of Oncology, because they al-

ways make our day more fulfilling

and enjoyable.

Woman 's day

Date: 08.03.2013. Safe house

Goal: The aim of this action was to give some daily life neces-

sities for woman and children who live there.

Our club visited the Safe house for the Woman' s day on 8th of March.We

had an great reception preparded by its inhabitants, after which we talked

to them about their life in the house, problems and tried to find a way how

to help them in the future.

Songs and Lyrics for Lane

Date: 29.04.2013. Institution of Palilula

Goal: This action was dedicated towards collecting money

for the action:Everybody for Lane.

Cultural night held in theater of Institution of Palilula consisted of var-

ious performances suh as: harp, piano, poets, singers, dancers and

special guest choir Krsmanac. It started at 19 h and lasted for an hour

and a half. Total amount of collected money is 300 euros.

Rotary All Star Tournament:

Healthy life

Date: 18.05.2013. Tenis Club Victoria

Goal: Concept of this action was to combine all together basketball tourna-

ment, family day in nature, raise awareness about the importance of healthy

life and humanitarian action.

Started at 10 h and lasted till 14

h.While memebers of Rotary,

Rotaract clubs and sponsors

teams competed with each oth-

er on the court, others were en-

joying watching and participat-

ing in: magician performance,

aerobik, Qi-gong, Capuero,

massages and perks of healthy

food which have been served.

Total amount of collected mon-

ey is 2700 euros.

Clothes and beddings donation

to the Safe house

Date: 16.05.2013. Safe house, Belgrade

Goal: To help women and children that were obliged to live

their homes due to the domestic violence.

Safe house is a shelter for women who left their homes due to domestic vio-

lence. Women come there often with children and without any personal belong-

ings. Those women and their children are in need of everything, so we donated

them some clothes and beddings and we will continue to help them in any way

we can. In order to keep it as safe as possible we are not allowed to reveal the

address of the Safe house.

Healthy teeth to happy

teeth (part II)

Date: 21.05.2013. Kindergarten „Naše nade“,

Subotica

Goal: Importance of acquiring oral hygienic habits and

proper nutrition for children.

Rotaract Club Subotica in cooperation with kindergarten „Naše nade“ and

Goodwill pharmacy organized an interesting lecture for children up to 6 years

called "Healthy Teeth to happy teeth". Doctor of stomatology Nina

Parabućski tried to draw attention to the importance of acquiring oral

hygienic habits and proper nutrition. Kids could learn the correct way of tooth

brushing and after all they got a present, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Rotaract club Subotica participated in a humanitarian concert

organized by Rotary Club Palic. All proceeds from this

humanitarian actions will be intend to help families with

lowincome.

Goal: Support actions to help families with low-income.

Rotaract club Subotica participated in a humanitarian action organized by

Rotary Club Palic. We had own stand where we sold coffee, keyrings and

aprons for humanitarian purposes and helped Rotarians in issuing food and

drink.

Dyeing Easter eggs

Date: 29.04.2013. Sigurna dečija kuća

Goal: Socializing, having fun, dyeing the eggs

Due to Easter, five of us went to the "Sigurna dečija kuća". We had fun with

the children dyeing the eggs as well as decorating them with our own draw-

ings and socializing with them. Actions like this should be supported as much

as possible because fallings one get seeing those faces full of smiles can not

be replaced with anything. It is really precious knowing that we made

someone’s day.

From vanilla to barbecue to fruit loops, many

male butterflies have a distinct smell, known to

scientists as pheromones, used to attract

females. These pheromones are produced in

specialized scales on the wings and are often

wafted over females during courtship by

flapping. The smells are often oddly

familiar to humans, and Opsiphanes

butterflies (as seen here) can leave you

desiring a piece of cake after catching one

in the Amazon.

So, next time you see a butterfly- try

getting close enough to sniff it.
