Welcome to the last week of Term 3. We wish everyone a very safe and relaxing holiday and look

forward to seeing everyone nice and refreshed to start Term 4.

Out of Uniform Day

This Friday 25th September is out of uniform day. Students may

dress out of uniform with enclosed shoes and don’t forget the

hat.

Year 2 Swimming School Cancellation

We were advised by our local Swim School Co-Ordinator that the Year 2 Swim School will no longer

be proceeding in Term 4, due to the Department of Education’s new restrictions. Parents who have

made a payment for the Year 2 Swim School are asked to contact the school regarding their

preference for a refund as outlined in the note handed out this week.

Preschool and Kindergarten Enrolments 2021

We are now taking enrolments for Preschool and Kindergarten 2021. If you or anyone you know has

a child ready to start Preschool or Kindergarten in 2021, please contact the school for enrolment

information and leave your contact details to join our Virtual Orientation Information Session.

Hunter Valley Zoo Incursion

On Monday K – 2 had a visit from Hunter Valley Zoo they set up

down at the Yarning Circle, which was an ideal location for the

incursion. The students had an amazing morning learning about

our native animals. They were able to touch a python named

Bobby, they students fed the goats who were very cheeky and

wanted to eat Miss Thomas’ dress. It was a great morning!

Online Enrolment System

We are excited to announce that the new Online Enrolment System will be rolling out from Monday 14

September 2020.

The Online Enrolment System is designed to provide flexibility for our parents to submit an enrolment

application online and at the time that best suits you. The application can be accessed on all

browsers and mobile devices including iOS and Android.

The online application process is currently restricted to:

• Enrolments into local schools only

• Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents

• Children who live in NSW

We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If, however, you

do not feel comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available on request or

can be downloaded from the Department’s website: https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-

Library News

Book Week 2020 ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’

MWDS will be celebrating Book Week during Term 4 Week 2, 17-23

October. The theme this year is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’. Book

Week will be a little different this year and sadly we won’t be able to have

parents and caregivers at the school to participate. However, students will

be able to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and we

will take plenty of photos to share with everyone at home. Start planning

those costumes!

The library is also running some Book Week competitions. The colouring,

quiz and word target competitions are all due to the library on the first day

back in Term 4.

Uniform Orders

Even though we are unable to open our physical shop and can’t offer face-to-face service for students

and parents/carers, uniforms can still be purchased and will be sent home with students. Orders can

be placed via email ([email protected]), text (0432 350 805) or by messaging the P&C

Facebook page. At this stage, we are only able to accept online payments. Our Preloved Uniform

Shop will also be up and running in the next few weeks via our Facebook page. Banking details for

new uniforms are included at the bottom of the order form. Both the order form and an approximate
