    SPORTS EVENING

My apologies that we had to cancel

the Sports Evening due to be held

today - the weather is so

unpredictable at the moment that we

had to make a decision yesterday

based on the latest information we

    had available. As the day

    progressed we had sunshine, a

    thunderstorm, a power cut, then

    more sunshine!

Looking in our school diary, there is

a possibility that we can still hold the

event in the last full week of term

    (week beginning 9th July), despite

my fears that we would have to

    simply cancel the event altogether.

The children and staff have been

working very hard to prepare for the

event, it is a real shame to have

cancel it. We will let you know our

    plan in the coming days.

    MRS HACKING

I would like to extend our thanks to

Beth Hacking who has been working

with us this term as a student

    teacher from the University of

    Chester on her final teaching

practice. Mrs Hacking has been very

successful in her work with Class 2

    and the children have benefitted

greatly from her hard work. I am

    MILES OF SMILES

Gavin Conery has asked if I can

    advertise a Charity Football game

that will take place on July 7th in

aid of Miles of Smiles. Two teams

    will compete: Gemma's

    Galactico's v Saica Winsford.

Kick off is 3.00pm at Johnny

    Walkers Field of Dreams, Ashton

Hayes. There is food and a raffle at

Barrow Club after the game. ALL

    WELCOME.

Gavin does fantastic work withMiles of Smiles and I would be

grateful if any parents or friends

can find some time to support this

    event.

    PTFA SUMMER FAIR

I hope that you will be able to join

us on Saturday for our Summer

Fair. Please bring any entries for

    the children's craft competition to

    school on Friday or Saturday

    morning, ready for judging. This

event will go ahead come rain or

shine and we look forward to

    welcoming you to school from

    12.00pm.

    RACE FOR LIFE

A very big well done to Denin and

Charlotte from Class 5 who ran with

    Mrs Reid on

    Sunday

    completing

the Chester race for Life. They all

completed the 5 kilometre race inunder 30 minutes!

    GRANDPARENTS DAY

Can I please remind you that there

is an open invitation to all parents,

    grandparents, aunties, uncles,

    friends, neighbours... to visit school

tomorrow (Friday) to meet up with

your children and celebrate the work

that has been competed this year.

If the weather is poor, there is plenty

of space in the hall, library and

gallery area to sit and look through

    books and enjoy each others

    company. Refreshments will be

served in the staff room and all

visitors and children are welcome to

enjoy these. Please come to school

    from 9.30 until 12.00 and 1.15pm

    until 3.00pm.

    ILLNESS IN SCHOOL

I am sure you know of

    someone who has

    been absent from

    school in recent days

    with sickness and

    stomach upsets. I also

    have three members

    of staff who are quite

poorly at the moment; it seems that

    this particular virus is quite

    contagious.

Can I please remind you that it is

    recommended that children stay off

from school for 48 hours after the

last episode of sickness. This will

help a good recovery and prevent

    viruses spreading through the

    school - thank you.
