college in-state tuition and state financial aid, a
residency determination is required from RDS. Once
you complete the RDS, you will be assigned an RDS #
which you will use when filling out college
applications.

make sure you complete all requirements,
pay all fees, & return all books/ equipment
prior to the end of 1st semester.
Also, you must attend the MYG meeting in

You can apply for financial aid
beginning October 1st. You can
also apply BEFORE you are
accepted to college!

Your High School Resume
It’s time to update your HS resume.
Have this ready before you apply to
college or for scholarships. Include all
honors, awards, extra-curricular activi-
ties, employment, volunteer work, etc.
completed since 9th grade.
Do you plan to enlist in the military after graduation?
Have you decided what branch of the military is a good
fit for you? Are you working with a recruiter? Have
you taken the ASVAB? If you need assistance, please
request an appointment with your school counselor.
Do you leave campus early or arrive to cam-pus late AND miss homeroom? If so, it is very important that you check in with your HR
teacher on a regular basis, check your student email, fol-low CBA on IG & FB, watch the morning announcements on YouTube (WCBA). Being a senior requires lots of re-sponsibility. Don’t miss important deadlines and infor-mation……..You might regret it!
Planning to play a college sport?
You must register with the NCAA
at https://web3.ncaa.org.
Fee waivers available.
Ask your counselor if you need
assistance!
ARE YOU NEW TO CBA?
Being a new student can be tough. Being a new SENIOR student can be even tougher!
Your school counselor is here to help. Do you need help reading your new high school
transcript? Do you have questions about credits needed for graduation in NC? Are you
confused about the college application process in our state? Whatever the concern, we
will try our best to make your transition as smooth as possible. You can request an ap-
pointment using the kiosk in the main lobby or email your counselor directly.

I don’t go to homeroom! HELP!
It’s time to use a “Big Kid” email!
Create a professional email to use for college appli-
cations, scholarships, job applications, etc. DO NOT
use your school email. It will be deactivated upon
graduation and will cause major problems
for you down the road!
Do you need a letter of recommendation for a
college application or scholarship? Once you de-
cide who will be your recommender, provide
them with an updated HS resume. Allow at least
2 weeks prior to your deadline to give the recom-
mender plenty of time to complete the letter. Do
not expect to read the letter. Most letters are
submitted in confidence. Most importantly…
DON’T PROCRASTINATE!
Your school counselor can assist you with interview skills,
resume prep and career interests.
Request an appointment! We are here to help!
Planning to enter the work-
force after graduation?
