I would like to take the opportunity to welcome all our new families who have joined us this year. I sincerely hope that both you, and your children find your time here at Saxonwold Primary a happy and rewarding one. A special welcome to our new Grade 1 learners and their parents; this is the start of a very important relationship, which will continue to grow over the next 7 years. A very warm welcome is also extended to our new members of staff, Mr Alfonzo King, Grade 7 class teacher, Mr Kendall Clark, Grade 4 class teacher, Mr Hendry Merckel, our music teacher and Ms Maureen Mdluli, Foundation Phase support. Welcome to our school community! My challenge to them, and to all the teachers, is to make a difference to our school. My confidence rests in our staff, and I am looking forward to the education of our young minds who will change our future. Our focus Value for January is “SAFETY”. School safety is impor- tant to protect the learners and staff in our school. A safe learning environment is key to the overall development of a child. A big thank you to parents for your support in ensuring every child is dropped off and collected safely from school. 3-14 FEBRUARY 2020 Exemption forms will be available on these days between 07:30-08:30 from Ms Hassen in the office. Thoseparents who wish to apply for an exemption are to personally collect these forms and return them toMs Hassen by no later than 27 FEBRUARY 2019 at 12:00.

If you were only able to pay book pack and levy fees from the 15th January 2020 onwards, please note thereis a 24-48 hour administration turnaround time to allocate payment and issue book packs.

extramurals

Our extra murals will commence this week (please see page 3-6).Parents, please encourage your children to sign up and participate in all school activities. I hope asmany learners as possible are able to take part.
