Newsle er: September 2018
Staff and pupils at Frederick Bremer School are celebrating another year of fantastic results. Pupils continue to make progress higher than national levels, despite the introduction of the new and more challenging GCSEs. They have achieved some outstanding results, including pupils achieving 51 grade 9 or 8s. We achieved above national results in English Language and Maths. All of our pupils, staff and parents should feel incredibly proud of their achievements. Many of our pupils faced significant challenges – be it temporary housing, bereavement, health or financial difficulties, but despite this they have left the school with great results. Inclusion is at the heart of Fredrick Bremer’s ethos, and every pupil is entitled to take a full part in every subject regardless of SEND or language barriers. Our pupils have made significantly better than expected progress and we have sustained high levels of achievement. These success are a reflection of the high quality teaching and learning and wider provision we offer at our fantastic community school. We are proud of the achievements of all of our pupils and hope that you enjoy reading about some of the individual successes contained within this newsletter.
On the 23rd August our Year 11 class of 2018 collected their GCSE with a mixture of trepidation and excitement. The overwhelming number of delighted faces captured the
Bremer motto of ‘be the best you can be’.
Head Girl, Ida who joined the school in Year 7 whilst still learning English, achieved top grades in 5 subjects (including English) and a B in her A level.
Vithusan achieved grade 8s in Maths and Sciences as well as top grades in all other subjects. Vithusan was part of the Bremer Pupil Leadership Programme as a prefect in Year 10 and Year 11.
