You should also decide together on how your newscast would look. Discuss thefollowing things with your group:

For a four person group, the total length should be between 10-11minutes. (2 minutes and 30 seconds per person PLUS an intro and outro)

For a five person group, the total length should be between 13-14minutes. (2 minutes and 30 seconds per person PLUS an intro and outro)

• Ethos, logos, or pathos angle

• EITHER two logical fallacies OR one logical fallacy and an AristotelianSyllogism

• A visual aid (poster of your product OR an actual model of your product)

• Conclusion that ties back to your attention getter

OR

Aristotelian Syllogism

Working with Logical Fallacies

Choose four of the fallacies from the list above and create ways you might advertise your

#1: _____________________________

#2: _____________________________

#3: _____________________________

#4: _____________________________

Commercial Planning

In the space below, come up with an idea for a product that you would sell to teenagers.

Then, fill out how you would market it using the ethos, logos, and pathos angles we

discussed in class.

Commercial Idea

Ethos: an argument based on the reputation of the speaker

Logos: an argument based on appealing to the audience’s sense of logic and

reasoning

Pathos: an argument based on appealing to the audience’s emotions and sense of

empathy
