2019 All Corps Member
ConferenceOn Wednesday, January 23, 2019,
Serve DC hosted the third annual
All Corps Member Conference
entitled “Ready.Set.Grow.”
AmeriCorps members serving in
the District of Columbia benefited
from workshops on resume
building, personal branding,
financial management, nutrition,
physical fitness, and emergency
preparedness. They also heard
from successful AmeriCorps alumni
about life after AmeriCorps.
2019 Wilson Building
Open HouseAs part of #FairShotFebruary,
Mayor Bowser hosted District
residents at the 2019 Wilson
Building Open House, allowing
District residents the opportunity to
ask questions and learn more
about the programs and resources
available through her various
offices. Serve DC provided free
Hands on Hearts CPR training and
spoke to residents about
emergency preparedness, national
service, and volunteer
opportunities.

our senior residents and those with
access and functional needs during
the winter weather.

role models with varied
backgrounds. Our mentors are
passionate and committed role
models who dedicate one night a
week to the success of our
scholars. Some grew up in the
same communities as the scholars
they mentor; others grew up in other
parts of the country or world. Some
live in the city; others commute from
the suburbs. But all volunteer their
time to make a difference in the
Kid PowerEach year, hundreds of volunteers
and mentors make Kid Power a
truly transformative experience for
students. By tutoring youth one-on-
one, sharing your expertise through
workshops, providing students with
unique opportunities and field trips,
and improving our gardens and
lives of young people.

National Reentry NetworkThe mission is to build a strong,
national network comprised of
individuals returning from
incarceration who support each
other’s successful reintegration.
We use a client-centered approach
to identify basic needs and to
create a continuum of care that can
address barriers to reentry,
promote restorative practices, and
reduce recidivism.

Joyful Food MarketMartha’s Table, in partnership with
the Capital Area Food Bank,
launched Joyful Food Markets to
increase access to and encourage
consumption of fresh fruits and
vegetables east of the Anacostia
River. At pop-up the markets
volunteers will assist families shop
for FREE fresh, seasonal produce
and healthy pantry staples. In
addition, assist with chef-led
culinary demonstrations designed
to spread the joy of healthy eating.

Raising A Village FoundationRaising A Village Foundation is looking for mentors and tutors to serve as part
of the Driven 2 Succeed Program! Driven 2 Succeed (D2S) is a youth-
development program for elementary, middle, and high school students that
