It’s a social minefi eld
Strictly:
In this age of social media, who you follow on Twitter says EVERYTHING about your relationship with them. Like,
remember when Demi Moore unfollowed Ashton Kutcher after that incident with the party girls in the hot tub in San Diego? Or when Katy Perry was nuked by Russell Brand less than a month after
he fi led for divorce? Speaking to heat at the Pride of Britain Awards, Strictly pro Aliona Vilani told us, “[The show] is one big love-in behind the scenes.” So far, so polite. But Twitter doesn’t lie – so heat decided to very geekily analyse who follows who, and we found out some very interesting facts behind all the sequins and glitter… selina maycock
Following, unfollowing, snubs – The show’sstars are leading each other a right merry dance
strictly social
strictly Anti-social
Anita Rani is the friendliest celeb – she follows all the stars AND dancers.
Ola Jordan follows all the celebs, but only half of the pros. Power play.
Jamelia only follows her co-stars if they follow her fi rst. Hardball.
Ainsley Harriott & Daniel O’Donnell aren’t even on Twitter. Bless.
Peter Andre doesn’t follow 17 of the 28 dancers on Twitter – including 60 per cent of the girls.
New dancer Tristan MacManus know how it works in this business – he follows everyone, too. Clearly, he wants to make as many new friends as he can.
Are Ola and Karen Hauer still distant? In 2013, Karen allegedly verbally attacked Ola during training – and they don’t follow each other on Twitter.
Jeremy Vine seems to have something against dance couple Jamelia and Tristan, and Aliona – he snubs them, but follows everyone else. Interesting…
Pasha Kovalev snubs eight people – both celebs and dancers – who follow him, including Georgia May Foote, Iwan Thomas and Anton Du Beke.
If (unlike these guys) you’re following all the dancers and celebs on Twitter and want to be more involved, you’re in luck, because Strictly has its own emojis. Hashtag ‘Strictly’ followed by the score you think the dance deserves (e.g. #Strictly8) and a teeny-tiny voting paddle bearing your score will appear. Neat, right?
