Atlanta

Patient Dental Day is fast approaching for the patients in the metro Atlanta area. It is being hosted by the Good Samaritan Clinic on September 20th, 2014. The event is for people who need dental care and will receive free care from the volunteers of the clinic.

The Good Samaritan Clinic is dedicated to providing medical and dental services to those in need and who do not have insurance.

The Good Samaritan Clinic is a non-profit organization and provides healthcare to uninsured, low income people in greater metropolitan Atlanta. The center also offers health education, mental health, and social services. The Clinic host days to provide free care about every month and targets people that cannot receive care on an annual basis due to their circumstances. The event will be providing cleanings and simple procedures to patients. Since opening in 1999 in downtown Atlanta, the Good Samaritan has been serving individuals who have no access to health care to help prevent future health issues.

History: The Good Samaritan Health Center was founded in 1998 be Dr. Bill Warren and opened for service in 1999 in downtown Atlanta with a staff of eight people along with some volunteers to help. The center relocated to an expanded facility on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in 2009 with a full time staff of 40 and 400 voulunteers.

Mission: The mission of the Good Samaritan Health Center is “Spreading Christ’s love through quality healthcare for those in need.”

Vision: The Center’s vision is to provide a dependable, full time, comprehensive healthcare home for those without insurance or the means to afford care in Atlanta.

Goal: To work together to provide high quality medical, dental, mental health, specialty, and health education services to individuals and families in Atlanta that could not otherwise afford it.

Objective: By 2014, The Good Samaritan Health Center will provide 30,000 patient visits for primary health care services, health education, and community outreach through our urban farm and special days of service. Currently, the total patients served is 280,000.

Publics

Primary-1. Volunteer- Good Samaritan needs as many people as possible to help as the full time staff .2. Patients- Good Samaritan are serving people that are in need, which are the patients.3. Full time staff- This staff is dedicated to help their patients in need on a daily basis.4. Homeless people- Many people are homeless in Atlanta and have no access to medical care5. Unemployed people- People unemployed usually do not have health care because they do not have a current income.6. Low income families- People with a low income cannot afford healthcare. 7. Donors- These people help people in need for urgent care and are highly appreaciated.

Secondary-8. Future Donors- Just in case people are thinking about donating their organs, they know about this non-profit org.

9. Future Patients- A future patient would want to know if the Good Samaritan has great healthcare, therefore it is important to keep a good representation. 10. Future full staff- Future staff may look at working here.11. Future volunteers- Future volunteers may want to volunteer here12. Future unemployed- People that may be unemployed in the future may need healthcare they would get here. 13. Future low income familes- These are indirectly impacted.

SUBJECT: Free Medical Screening- September 22, 2014

The free medical screening for the public will be held September 22, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Donald lee Howell location of the Good Samaritan Clinic. As a reminder, this event will last until 8:00 p.m., long enough for people to get off work and come to be screened. All staff and volunteers should arrive at 8:30 a.m. to set up and are expected to stay the entire time.

Sarah: You are responsible for accepting donations from anyone who wants to donate. Please bring the donation sign and box to this event to be at the table. Also please bring the receipt book as well to provide receipts to the public.

Gregory: Please bring the refreshments to this event. This include drinks: juice, bottle water, etc. Food: chips, cookies, small sandwiches, etc. Also you are responsible for bringing cups, utensils that is needed, plates and napkins.

Kelvin: You will be the direct contact until the day of the event for questions and concerns. I will be putting your direct phones number and email address on the flyer so people can contact you.

I will be available for contact leading until the day of the event and I will arrive at the location at 8:00 a.m. to make sure everything is in place.
