News from the School of Law

School of Law organised a guest lecture on the topic ‘Self-Performance Assessment Analysis’ by Prof. (Dr) Kakoli Sen for 1st Year students on 15 Jan 2018. Prof. Kakoli shared an example: ‘15 Jan 2018 would be the gloomiest day of the year’. She said there are two ways in which one can analyze this statement viz., people world-wide aim for new resolutions at the commencement of the New Year and if after 15 days have passed no work is undertaken on the resolution they can get depressed. If you keep a positive outlook, which should actually be the right way of thinking, you can see it as only as 15 days have passed and there are 50 more weeks to go. She emphasized that there should be a balance between progressive activities and conservative activities. The students participated actively in the activities which had a mix of motivation, inspiration and assessment behind them. [SOL2017G001]

Student Speak

Simran ChawlaBTech, CSE (Class of 2018)

“I joined The NorthCap University with a dream for a successful life and that was the first step towards my success. Throughout this journey I learnt that hard work and patience play a very important role in life as they break all the obstacles and have helped me achieve my goal.

Being placed in British Telecom (BT) has been one of my greatest achievements as I was the only one from the Computer Science stream to be selected. It was a proud moment for me and my family. The placement drive consisted of five rounds that started with the aptitude test followed by the group discussion and then the three rounds of interviews viz., technical,

management and HR. After each round the difficulty level increased but I was able to crack it because of my confidence, communication skills and my abilities that were honed at NCU.

I am so thankful to God, my parents, my teachers and the University’s team for their immense support and guidance. I would definitely like to thank The NorthCap University for giving me this opportunity to accomplish my goal.”

Students spent time with each resident of the old age home and donated a few basic amenities and organized refreshments. It was a great experience meeting the inmates, many of whom had been abandoned by their family but still they did not lack in spirit. We must remember that they do not need gifts or money, all they need is our time. The students helped them in taking their meals which left them touched emotionally.
