IMPLEMENTING 5S AT WORKPLACE

5S

A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND

EVERYTHING HAS ITS PLACE

AIM has recently implemented 5S methodology as part of its

various process improvement initiatives to achieve work-

place efficiency.

5S is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity

through maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual

cues to achieve more consistent operational results. The term

refers to five steps – sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and

sustain – that are also sometimes known as the 5 pillars of a

visual workplace. The result is an improved manufacturing

process and the lowest overall cost for the goods produced.

Headed by Mr. Abdul Azeez — DGM Enterprise Excellence,

team AIM was trained on the principles of 5S and depart-

ment wise auditors were nominated for evaluation of inter-

departmental teams. Audits were conducted on quarterly

basis (both office and shop floor) to ensure sustainability of

5S implementation.

AI’S NEW FABRICATION FACILITY IN UAE

Arabian Industry LLC (AI LLC) to soon

start operations from its new fabrication

facility ―Arabian Industries LLC — GCC

Branch, Abu Dhabi 1” in UAE.

Located at the industrial city of Abu

Dhabi - Musaffah (I CAD Phase –2) &

spanning over 45,000 square meter, the

new facility will include a major fabrica-

tion bay, blasting & painting shop, a full-

fledged office, advanced & automat-

ed fabrication & welding machineries,

heavy lifting, on-site testing & inspection

capabilities.

The facility will be certified to ISO 9001 :

2015 and ASME — U & NB — R accredi-

tation.

AI’s new manufacturing space will add

to the company’s existing facilities in

Sultanate of Oman (Sohar & Rusayl)

and in Republic of Iraq (North Rumaila)

and will be the fifth facility in GCC with

combined fabrication area of 185,000

square meters.

Abu Dhabi is a crucial part of AI

Group’s global footprint for both EPC

and process equipment manufacturing

& it provides an attractive location for

growth in the coming years.

GLASSPOINT REWARDED AIM ON SAFETY

GlassPoint Solar, the leading supplier of solar pow-

er to the Oil and Gas industry, has celebrated the

successful completion of one million man-hours

without a lost time injury (LTI) on the Miraah solar

plant being built for Petroleum Development

Oman (PDO).

Miraah, a 1021 MW solar thermal project, will be

one of the world’s largest solar plants, delivering

over one giga watt of peak thermal energy.

AIM is proud to partner with Glasspoint for this pres-

tigious project. AIM scope involves critical welding

of Receiver Tubes (11350 Joints) inside glasshouse

& S-Stamp Services for the Solar Steam Project at

Amal (Ph.1 of Miraah Project), PDO.

AIM holds a significant position in contributing to

the development of one of the most prestigious

projects in Sultanate.

DELIVERY COMMENCED ON YIBAL KHUFF PROJECT

(YKP) OF PDO

AIM recently delivered 7 Nos of Pressure Vessels

(cladded & non-cladded) to Petroleum Devel-

opment Oman (PDO) as part of Yibal Khuff Pro-

ject (YKP).

AIM scope involves engineering, fabrication

and supply of 2 Nos Columns & 14 Nos Pressure

Vessels including a 300 MT Cladded Vessel & 46

m long Regenerator Column which are currently

under fabrication at AIM factory in Sohar

(Sultanate of Oman).

AIM recently dispatched 5 Nos Manifold

Skids of sizes up to 37.0 M Length x 6.5 M

ing 26 Nos of CSS Manifold Skids of sizes 18.5

m length x 5 m width for Amal Phase –1 C2

AIM has participated in a recent bilateral trade meeting held between Qatar &

Oman.

On the sideline of this meeting, the Omani side organized

an exhibition for their industries and introduced the Qatari

delegation to such industries.

AIM LLC exhibited and showcased their strength in the field

of manufacturing with respect to Energy sector.

PARTICIPATION IN QATAR-OMAN TRADE DELEGATION

The Qatari delegation,

which included 140 business-

men of various fields & sector

reviewed the investment op-

portunities available in Qatar

and Oman and explored the

possibility of forging alliances

between Qatari and Omani

businessmen as well as estab-

lishing joint ventures in the

State of Qatar and the Sul-

tanate of Oman.

UPGRADATION OF AIM ACCOMODATION VILLAGE

AIM LLC under its operations

manages and run two well estab-

lished accommodation camps at

Sohar & Rusayl in Oman.

AIM’s eco friend camp / residen-

tial units at Sohar has recently

undergone major renovation.

These residential units / camps

are intended to set high and

comfortable standards of living

for all its tenants including work-

force, engineers and other senior

level personnel.

Respective accommodation

camps have been designed in ac-

cordance to civil, industrial and

economic development standards

to fully satisfy the needs of the blue

and white collar communities.
