Hello families!

We had a wonderful new staff member start at DMKA this week! Our service dog, Kammie, started coming to school every day! She visited several classrooms with me, and we taught the students about service dogs. It was exciting! If your child's class didn't get a chance yet, we will finish up these visits on Monday.

Also, I am looking forward to our Christmas Sing Along at Barnes and Noble in Greenwood this Sunday!

We were also very excited to hear the Henry Burkhart All That Jazz singers perform their Christmas program on Tuesday! The Grinch even came to visit! They were all great and we loved it!

2019-20 Kindergarten Registration Information

Kindergarten registration will begin on January 7, 2019 for those students who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2019. The student must turn 5 years old on or before August 1, 2019 in order to register. The Kindergarten Academy your stu-dent will attend is determined by your residence only and not where other siblings may be attending. The following is a list of

2019 Choice Application Information FOR KINDERGARTEN ACADEMIES ONLY

The choice application period for the 2019-2020 school year will be open on January 14 through February 22, 2019. Students en-tering the first grade will be assigned to their home school, THIS MAY NOT BE THE SCHOOL ATTACHED TO THEIR KINDERGARTEN ACADEMY. IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO ATTEND A SCHOOL OTHER THAN THEIR ASSIGNED HOME SCHOOL, YOU MUST COM-PLETE THE CHOICE APPLICATION. Please remember that Rosa Parks Elementary and Jeremiah Gray Elementary are Choice Schools only. Applications and instructions will be available through our website under the “For Parents” tab as well as at each elementary school. There will be a limited choice of 20 spots per Kindergarten Academy for incoming kindergarten students. There will be no transportation provided for the kindergarten choice program. Cookies with Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Save the Date!! December 15 Cookies with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Southport High School. 1:00-2:30pm & 3:30-5:00pm - $10 per child (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Recommended for children up through 5th grade but open to all believers! Activities include cookies, hot chocolate, water crafts and games, face painting with elves and a photo op with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Sponsored by SHS Indoor Percussion.
