Executive Committee of National Board Meets Our thanks to these 1988 ad hoc item writers: The Executive Committee of the National Board, which includes representatives From the Association of Faculties of PNP/A programs, NAPNAP, and the AAI?, met in April this year. Decisions made by the Executive Committee included the following: Mary Ann Burman Thayer Holly Eiden Martha Blechar Gibbons Joan Greene Nancy Hosek Linda Lindeke Beth Richardson Jean Smith Nancy Varni Mary Waskerwitz Janet Williams Kathy Woods Candy Zickler Establishing eligibility criteria, fee structure, and recertification criteria for general pediatric nursing certification. Specific eligibility criteria include BSN with 2 years’ experience in past 5 years or non-BSN with 3 years’ experience within past 6 years (non-BSN eligibility effective only through 1992 offering); fee structure is $150 for certification examination; recertifica- tion may be done through reexamination every 5 years or CEU documentation annually. The first examination date was set for October. Reviewing and adopting a budget for fiscal year 1989 Expanding the number of ad hoc item writers for PNP/A certification and certification main- tenance Promoting PNP/A certification through schools of nursing Appointing Jean Moore, PhD, RN, as liaison to Executive Committee from Task Force on Pediatric Nursing Implementing pediatric nursing content validity study in July 1988 Soliciting opinions from PNl?/A certification and certification maintenance candidates regard- ing programs Ad Hoc Item Writers The response to the National Board’s call for item writers for 1989 has been outstanding.
