JOIN US FOR A FREE FAMILY ART DAY!Crest Associates are invited to a free, open to the public Family Art Day at Pepperdine’s Malibu campus Saturday, October 18, from 10 AM to 1 PM featuring hands-on art projects and Weisman Museum tours. For this Family Art Day, the Center for the Arts is teaming up with The Big Draw LA, during which children and their families will participate in a large collaborative drawing based on Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
During the art day, exciting productions of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites will be held at Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre in Malibu at 11 AM and 1 PM.
The show features three beloved stories by Eric Carle, award-winning children’s book illustrator and author, are retold on stage through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. Included are the wonderful story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly, the fanciful account of Little Cloud’s travels through the sky, and The Mixed-up Chameleon’s discovery of his own unique nature, presented by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia.

PEPPERDINE ALUMNI ART SHOWCASECrest Associates are invited to a special Pepperdine Alumni Art reception hosted by the Crest Advisory Board on Saturday, October 18, from 10:30 AM – Noon in the Payson Library Art Gallery (second floor). Alumna artist Shannon Celia and Seaver College Alumni Affairs officially debut the first-ever Pepperdine Alumni Art Showcase, a gallery of alumni art to exhibit for six weeks.
