News from Brockworth Parish Council At its meeting in May, Brockworth Parish Council elected Jim Hunt as Chairman for

another year, with Carole Neal as vice-chair. The new county councillor Robert

Vines came along and introduced himself.

The parish council agreed to support the summer activities programme that

ground rules but will adopt a new approach to the enforcement of the rules to

show more compassion and understanding. The parish council also agreed to the

purchase and installation of 5 dog waste bins (3 of which will be installed at

DEAR DOG WALKERS

Those of you that regularly walk dogs in the

Abbotswood and Mill Lane areas will have

probably noticed the newly completed play

areas which are now ‘open plan’. The lack of

fencing is deliberate and we ask dog owners to

please remember to keep your dog on a lead

when you are walking near the play equipment

and also to pick up after your dog. Dog bags

are available at the very reasonable rate of

50p per pack from Brockworth Community

Centre. Thank you :)

We have had another busy term at Brockworth Primary Academy!

Our new intake for September 2013 came with their parents/carers for an open

morning in April and spent the time meeting their new classmates, teachers and

played in the sandpit, on the pirate ship or cycled bikes on the race track. We look

forward to welcoming them all properly in September.

We’ve had numerous class assemblies showing parents, family and friends lots of

the great work we’ve produced over the last term. Superhero plays, whole class

dances including raps and wonderful art work have graced our stage.

House football and cricket matches have taken place, with the league

championships very much still in the balance, and our great variety of after-school

clubs have continued to encourage children to join in with extra-curricular

activities. This term we have singing, construction, rugby, cricket, art, football,

chess, athletics, Tae Kwon Do mini-masters and pond club. Quite a variety, I’m sure

you’ll agree.

Our annual Year 6 residential trip, this year four nights at Whitemoor Lakes in

Staffordshire, takes place just before half term, and some of the children are

already packed!

After half term, we look forward to our sports’ days, annual marathon, PTFA

barbeque and, of course, our Year 6 production.

If you would like any further information about any of our events or the academy in

general, or are interested in volunteering to help with either the children in the

academy or the PTFA, please contact:

The Circus is coming to Brockworth!

The Circus will be at Mill Lane playing field from 12th June until Sunday 16th June 2013.

Hand balancing, Aerial acrobats, Unicycling, Clowns and funny dogs are things you

could see in a talent show on TV, but what is even better? To see it LIVE! To see the

talents from so close that normally only the judges can see them. This is now possible

because Circus Ginnett is coming to Brockworth from the 12th to the 16th June with

a brand new show!

“Lovely show folks, the little one loved it too. Can I say the small things count too like

the way we were welcomed, you are all a friendly bunch and that is a bigger bonus. Of

course the show was brilliant too!” Is only one of the many positive reactions Circus

Ginnett had about the 2012 show. So Circus director Patrick Austin continues his 200

year old family tradition with an all new show for 2013 with new international artists

from Hungary, Holland Ireland and the UK.

Lights off…. Spot on, let the show begin! In a one and a half hour show circus Ginnett

presents to you for the first time in England clown Anton! Dutch clown Anton has

smuggled all his craziness into The UK.

Patrick is back with his police dog Vader. With his hilarious antics Vader is preventing

Patrick to steal the jewelry in the roof of the big top. Together they will make you fall

off your chair with laughter.

Jenny from the UK will make her entrance on the aerial net. Sparkling in the roof of

the big top she will amaze you with elegance and grace. Eva will amaze you with her

sword and knife balancing skills. Danni Endresz with his dare devil unicycle skills!!!!

And let’s not forget about Lui all the way from Hungary!! And his blinking

lamppost!!! Will he ever get that light to stay on!!

The mix of sizzling excitement, perfectionism and up-tempo humor await you in the

latest production of circus Ginnett. The result is a smooth running fun

filled performance that captivates the audience from the beginning to the end. A show

that once again proves that circus art is valued entertainment for all ages! The long

family history and the friendly image make Circus Ginnett truly unique entertainment.

As soon as you step into our big top you will feel the magic called circus.

Enough said .......... come and enjoy what the traditional circus still has to offer!
