Last time saw her in the title role This timc directing a Show with so many nostalgic memories has proved to be a different challenge
Anne knows that the support of the Committee Cast and backstage Crew is paramount to a successful Show This time Anne found the team spirit a source of great inspiration shyespecially with her daughter Kate ably aiding and abctting thi s production as Choreographer

Musical Director Michael Evans LRAM ARCM ATCl GRSM
Michael studied music at the Royal Academy of Music with Michacl Head Ernest Read and Sir John Barbirolli In 1964 he was appointed Head of Music at BulmershcSchool Reading and from 1974-1987 was Music Advisor for Oxfordshire He has conducted the Berkshire Glouccstcrshire and Oxfordshire Youth Orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall and the Festival Hall Michael has also worked extensively with severe ly physically hand icapped children at a special school near Aldershot Michael
has playcd the organ at St Edward s Cathedral Jerusalem and performed on radio and television He has acted as Musical Director for over 150 musicals and operettas with societies in Oxford Reading Maidcnhcad Slough and of course Newbury When not tcaching piano he is organist at StAugustines Church East Hendred and Musical Dircctor to St Marys Church choir Chieveley and the Downland Choristers
The Chairmans message Hcllo Dolly Must count as one of the elassic musicals of all time Who can forgct Barbara Streisands perfOnllanCe in the film Yet every production is different we hopc that our performance brings something ncw to you out of this favourite show We are lucky that we have such an experienced team producing this show both on stage and behind the scenes This year we are sad to announce that Bertha Bates our Secretaty for the past 15 years has decided to switch otf her computer put down her pcn and hand over the job to someone e lsc She will be greatly missed and a very hard act to follow Not only has she been Secretary but Bertha has also been Wardrobe mistrcss assistant Wardrobe mistress and performer The Society extends its very grateful thanks to such a loyal and dedicated member
New blood is always needed in the Society both on stage and behind the scenes We welcome new talent and any volunteers should not be shy to step forward and have a go All it takes is an audition and who knows this time next year you could be on stage taking the applause of an appreciative audience
