A formalized District Technology Committee was formed under the direction of a technology consultant. This group was comprised of all Districttechnology department staff, K-12 teachers covering multiple disciplines, building administrators from all school levels, the Superintendent andAssistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and two Board of Education representatives. This group met one to two times per month andwas the voice of this updated and revised technology plan. Each Technology Committee meeting was comprised of demonstrations, the review of technology articles outlining best practices, and heartydiscussion centered around student learning and technology integration. The Technology Committee was directly responsible for the creation of the District technology department's vision, mission, and goals. They werealso pivotal in the decision-making process regarding the adoption of an online collaborative tool.

5. Based upon your answer to question four, what are the top three challenges that are causing the gap? If you chose"No Gap Present" in question four, please enter N/A.

The largest challenge Newark Central School District is facing is connectivity. There are remote portions of the township that do not afford ourstudents the ability to have an internet connection at home. With the implementation of Office 365 and the District's wishes to implement a 1:1 program, we will need to acquire additional mobile devices. The third challenge facing NCSD is professional development. The District currently has a .5 Technology Integration Specialist and will need toaddress the need for more support in the future.
