There will be an electronic catalogue available from Wednesday 5th May via National Editor and branch website www.antiquearms.co.nz.

Page 2: New Zealand Antique & Historical Arms Association

We welcome you to the Canterbury Branch ‘e’ Catalogue Auction. The majority of the

auction is from one of our members who is having health issues and must sell his collection,

as well as other collections from deceased estates etc. We welcome postal bidding on these

items. Conducting the auction on our behalf will be Registered Auctioneer Graeme Barber.

Registration:

Rooms open from 7.30am for registration and viewing. The auction will commence at

10.30am sharp.

$10.00 registration fee applies to ALL bidders attending the auction.

There will be food and beverages available for purchase from 9:30am.

EFTPOS facility available

A Buyers premium of 10% is payable on all purchases on the Hammer Price for items

purchased through the auction (incl. postal bids) and on the realised price of items sold from

passed in items. Buyers, on the Fall of the Hammer, are entering into a binding agreement to

complete their purchase.

All buyers MUST be a current NZAHAA member, or a member of an invited kindred club.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse admittance to any individual.

Postal Bidders:

We welcome postal bids from NZAHAA bidders who are unable to attend the auction. Please

ensure that your name and address is written clearly on the provided Postal Bidding Form,

together with all the details requested, including your firearms license and endorsements

issued. Postal bids are subject to the buyer’s premium. If your Parcel Delivery address is

different from your Postal Address, please print it legibly in the space provided on the Postal

Bidding form. Please ensure your parcel address and contact telephone number is clearly

shown in the space provided.

Postal bids need to be emailed or scanned and received by

1700hrs on Thursday 20th May 2021

To: Postal Bids Canterbury Branch NZAHAA Inc PO Box 16514 Hornby Christchurch

OR Email to: [email protected] Successful bidders will be requested to forward, by return mail, payment for the lots purchased, plus the buyer’s premium, shipping costs and packaging charges. Failing prompt receipt of the amount requested, the buyer’s rights will be forfeited. As postal bids come to hand, lot numbers and bids will be noted in order of receipt and if identical bids are received, the bid that arrived first will take precedence. It is the responsibility of all purchasers to obtain the necessary permits to possess before any endorsed or prohibited items can be uplifted or shipped. Postal bidders are advised that the parcels for successful bids are wrapped, and addressed, shortly following the auction. Costs are calculated at this stage.

Page 3: New Zealand Antique & Historical Arms Association

Items are shipped at the Purchaser’s risk. This agreement between the Branch and the

Vendor indemnifies the Branch from costs relating to any loss or damage to items which may

occur.

PLEASE NOTE:

Your Postal bid will not be accepted if you omit the name of the NZAHAA branch of which

you are a member.

YOU MUST BE A CURRENT NZAHAA MEMBER, OR A KINDRED CLUB MEMBER, TO

BID ON ANY LOT.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR POSTAL BIDDERS

Payment

Postal Bidders - Our only method of payment is direct credit (online banking). The Branch

bank account details can be found on the Postal Bidding form.

The postal address cannot be to a PO Box number, as Couriers will not accept parcels

for delivery to PO Boxes. Please use your home or work address to enable courier delivery

during normal working hours.

Please note: Firearms will only be delivered to your nearest firearms Dealer or outlet.

Reminder – there will be NO deliveries of ammunition.

All purchasers of Firearms by Postal Bid will receive an invoice for their purchases and must

provide their Police Mail Order Sales form and payment before any items will be dispatched.

Conditions of Sale

Although every effort has been made to describe each lot accurately, no warranty is

given and we strongly recommend visual inspections. Neither the Auctioneer, NZ

Antique & Historical Arms Association, Canterbury Branch Inc, nor the vendor is

responsible for the authenticity of any item or faults in any lot. All lots are sold as

collector’s items only and are not sold as suitable for any other purpose. We do not

accept any responsibility if items are not in working order, and no internal inspection

or tests of mechanisms has been made.

German and Nazi Items

Due to the large number of reproductions, including some apparently made from “original”

moulds and dies, no guarantee of authenticity can be given.

While items are catalogued with care, all purchasers, including postal bidders, must satisfy

themselves as to the authenticity of any lot.

Payment & Buyers Premium

A Buyers premium of 10% is payable on all purchases on the Hammer Price for items

purchased through the auction as well as the realised price of all withdrawn items

purchased.

Page 4: New Zealand Antique & Historical Arms Association

Bidders attending the auction will be required to pay for their purchases (including fees)

during or at the conclusion of the auction by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

Please note: The Eft-Pos network will be applying a 1.8% surcharge on all payments

made by Credit Card and Eft-Pos transactions.

We are not accepting Cheques.

All lots become the responsibility of the purchaser at the fall of the hammer and the

Canterbury Branch of NZAHAA Inc takes no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred

after that time.

Ammunition & Firearms Purchases. Under the 1983 arms act, all postal purchases of

firearms and ammunition must be approved by your local Arms Officer on the approved form

(FRM43a). The police will then forward the form to the vendor. One way around these

provisions is for you to arrange for someone attending the auction to buy on your behalf and

uplift your items under the provisions of their own license.

BUYER’S PROCEDURE for ENDORSED ITEMS:

1. Pay for the item and receive the invoice confirming payment

2. Apply to the Police Arms Officer, in attendance, for the appropriate form

3. This form will be filled out by the Police Arms Officer and yourself.

4. Take the completed form and invoice to the Endorsed Items Table / Withdrawn Items

Table.

5. The buyer then takes the Endorsed Item directly to the Police Arms Officer to complete

the transfer onto the buyers licence.

6. When leaving the premises, you will need to show your receipt for payment as well as any

Permit to Possess (as required).

WITHDRAWN ITEMS

Unsold items from the auction proper will be placed on a separate Withdrawn Items table. At the end of (or during) the auction a buyer may purchase an item at the vendor’s reserve price. Buyers of any Withdrawn Items must have an invoice created with the buyer’s registration number, the lot number and the selling price, and be signed off by the Withdrawn Table staff. The Purchaser takes their invoice to the Payments Desk. The item will not be released to the Purchaser until receipt of payment has been signed off as proof of payment. Any Endorsed Items must have the appropriate forms signed by the Police Arms Officer present on the day, and the form is then taken to the Withdrawn Table for collection.
